Vehicle Detail

My 19-year-old daughter had planned to fix this 1977 Volkswagon Bus up like a hippy bus from the old days, but after 2 years, it has to go! The title is a Pennsylvania Reconstructed title. The engine runs fine, and is the more powerful motor that came in the buses of this vintage. When we purchased it, we were told that the seller had just overhauled the engine and that it had only 3,000 miles on it since then. New battery was purchased in September 2010. The body is in need of rust repair, particularly around windows and the engine compartment door, but otherwise is in decent condition for its age. The paint is a mix of brown and brown primer and the roof is white. Interior panels are in good condition and are included, but were removed to clean and not replaced. Front bucket seats were disposed of and other van seats are included, although not mounted. The middle and back bench seats are original VW ones and are included. Also included is the repair manual and aftermarket speakers. Wheels are off the front to enable us to repair rust that had formed where the front seats mount. Tires are not in good condition, but hold air. The bus was last inspected in 2008. It would make a great family project, or for someone who's interested in older VW restorations. If you want photographs of specific areas not shown, please contact me. The vehicle is being sold as is, with no guarantee. The buyer is responsible for pickup and transport from our location in central Pennsylvania. Required down payment of $100 accepted via Paypal, with balance due in cash or bank/cashiers check at the time of pickup. Title transfer location only 4 miles from our house. On Oct-05-10 at 14:56:19 PDT, seller added the following information:I just remembered that when we put the new battery in the bus to get it started that the accelerator stuck to the floor and the engine was revving. You can reach down and pull up the accelerator pedal, but it doesn't spring up on it's own. The engine speed can be controlled at the engine side of the cable, but something in the accelerator cable is not working between there and the pedal.
