Vehicle Detail
OK Folks. I'm selling a Family Heirloom. I wish I didn't have to, but the time and circumstances have come. This beautiful piece of American automotive history is now up for grabs. The car you are bidding on is a 1965 DODGE DART. My Great Aunt was ORIGINAL OWNER. She purchased the car in 1965 and kept meticulous records of it's care. I have the ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL that still have the oil changes and check-ups that were made to it. She drove the car for around 15-20 years before becoming too elderly to drive, sometime in the early 1980s. She lived in South Dakota on farm land. The car wound up in, you guessed it, a barn. Fast forward to the early 1990s. My Great Aunt passes away. The only family left to close the estate are my Father and my Aunt. As they were inspecting the land and property, my dad stumbles upon an old barn out back. He finds the car, covered with hay and bird droppings, sitting in the back corner, untouched for years. Being a car buff, he retrieves the car and brings it back to life. It makes its way from South Dakota to Nebraska, it's next home. Over the next 5 years, he COMPLETELY RESTORES the car from top to bottom, literally no expense spared. Brand new $3000 paint job. Interior completely redone. Stereo system that includes Tape, CD, and Amplifier in trunk, 6x9 speakers in the back and 5" speakers in the front doors. All chrome original CRAGER rims. The Slant Six was replaced with a rebuilt 273 Small Block V8. The new engine has less than 30K miles on it. No joke. After the restoration, it goes back into storage. Again. This time with a custom fit cover. Fast forward to 2004. The car again makes it way out of storage. This time to me in California. It was used and driven by myself for the last 6 years as a daily driver. Up until this point it was either in storage or used very seldom. The car does show some signs of wear and tear since I took it over, but they are minimal at best. I guarantee that the next owner won't have much to do in order to correct any flaws, cosmetic or mechanical. Now for the Sale. I had been taking the car to the same mechanic in LA for years. Six months ago I had taken it to him announcing that I was now moving to Pennsylvania and that I need for him to check the car for anything it might need before selling. He offers to buy the car on the spot. I told him I needed it until I left. A few months later, I come back to sell to him, and he backs out. I thought I had a buyer, and now I didn't. He basically strings me along all summer promising to buy but never committing. I can't hold out any longer. It has to go. Interested? I have every single receipt, bill, and piece of paperwork that has been put into this car since it was restored, from major rebuilds down to oil changes. There is an obscene amount of money in this car at this point. If you want it, its in Los Angeles, a nice rust free climate I might add. I can't ship it. It's up to you to get there. I will only take CASH or CERTIFIED CHECK. Let me know if PAYPAL is your only option. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have.
