1978 Honda XL100

This auction is for a vintage original 1978 Honda XL100 on/off road dirt bike. A survivor. I got the bike from the original owner who had it parked in his basement since 1978!! It currently has only 63 miles on it. The tires are still have the little new tire nubs on them, only minor dry spots. It had a 2-piece cylinder head. The engine is an OHC single cylinder displacing 99cc and linked to a 5-speed transmission. Has clean MA papers. The bike runs and drives but could use some fine tuning to get it to 100%. It is all original except for the left side body cover which is a NOS part for the bike, I never got the XL100 sticker for it. It is missing the toolkit. The battery is 1 year old (6v). The muffler was full of pinholes so I ground it down to bare metal, welded new steel and patched with fiberglass filler. There are NOS complete exhausts for this bike available for $200. I had the inside of the tank glass blasted to remove the flash rust from sitting all those years. I have had this bike for a few years now and it is a real conversation piece. This is perfect for the collector or just the AHRMA old bike fan, use it as a pit bike, take it to vintage Asian bike shows and get a trophy. Take it out to the desert and just cruise. I honestly got it to ride around town and as a dirt bike but…..felt too guilty to just take the bike out into the woods and abuse it due to the condition for its age.
