I have re-listed this truck due to all in inquiries and three who said they were going to buy the truck. The listing ran out with no bids and several who seem to be dragging their feet on the final purchase. So here it is again with a buy it now price of $800.00. I have this amount invested in this truck and a lot of time getting it up and running. I will sell it for the money I have invested and my labor is free. This truck was originally purchased by State Street Lumber in Boise Idaho (no longer in Business). Very well maintained and serviced on a regular basis until it sold to a farmer in McCall Idaho. It has a 5 speed transmission and a single speed rear axle. There is a pintle hitch and vacuum assist port in the rear of the vehicle which was used for vacuum operated brakes on trailers or anything that might have needed vacuum. It passed through several hands with ideas to restore the truck, I purchased it with the same intentions. I have owned this truck about 5 years and use it once in a while to do light hauling between my properties. This is a very nice almost rust free 1957 Ford F600. Considered by many to be the best truck ever built by ford. This is the original paint which had the name sanded off the doors. As you can see by the original paint, there has never been an accident and there is just a couple minor spots of rust on the lower corners of the fenders. This is the cleanest truck I've seen for this age and is virtually rust free. The engine starts and purrs like an old singer sewing machine. The brake pedal went to the floor after sitting for a year so I haven't drove the truck in several years. It always starts right up, battery is several years old and always works good, no need to jump the battery. The tires hold air but is aged and cracked so I'd suggest getting new tires if you plan on driving the old baby home. Pack a good lunch and bring your own tunes as this drives comfortably at 50 mph, it's going to take a little extra time to drive it to where it needs to go. If you want it painted and the bed put on, I'll have to get estimates for you as I can no longer do the work. I do have a hydraulic pump and a PTO as I was going to make a dump bed for hauling and ease of unloading (those would be extra). The neighbor has a 5 yard dump box off a dump truck, he wants $500.00 for it if you are interested. This was a project in which I have to let go due to my health. This will make a good truck for doing small jobs around the house or ranch. It looks like the engine is a 292 or a 312 ci. V-8 which were very good engines for the Fords. Hot Rod enthusiasts would take the cranks out of the 292's and put them into the 289's (with several modifications) to make a 340 cubic inch souped up engine. This is a great deal for this old truck. Several old truck forums have statements of people paying up to $2500.00 delivered to their door. I can deliver once my truck is up and running again. Should take a couple weeks and will deliver at $1.25 per loaded mile (that is a one way fee). I use mapquest to calculate the mileage. My zip code is 83638. I will not re-list this again. I've had several inquires about parts and the engine. I hate to part it out but I will if not sold this time. The rest of the truck after being parted will go to the scrap metal yard. This is a good solid truck and is very worthy of being put to use. On Sep-26-10 at 13:52:35 PDT, seller added the following information: The speedometer has 17,071 miles on it but I would be sure that it has been turned over and it is most likely to be 117,071 miles on the truck. There is no way to be accurate on the mileage due to the age of the vehicle.
