Vehicle Detail

1968 Mercury Cougar "Dan Gurney Special" Some assembly required! The Good The Bodywork and paint are complete, although not a great paint job. I'd say a 7 or 8 on a scale of 1-10 (10 being best). The original vinyl top is still in good condition, but very dirty. 98% of the parts to complete this car are present including new headliner, new window seals and roof rail weatherstrips. The original 302 engine in the car still runs and the C4 shifts fine (but has not been driven in about 5 years). This auction includes a High Performance 351 W engine (also in need of assembly). I have over $2500 invested in the engine alone (oversized valves, forged pistons, gapless rings, mild cam, etc.) I have a clear Washington State title in hand. This vehicle has not been registered in almost 20 years, so it should have fallen out of the system, making registration fees minimal. The Bad The 351 sat for the last 10 years and has aquired a little surface rust. The paint job has aquired a few nicks and scratches from clumsy people (like myself) bumbling through the garage over the years. All the chrome has been removed but never made it to the chrome shop. The car will only need the following parts (to my knowledge): A windshield, one rocker moulding, and center console. You'll probably want to replace the carpet and seat upholstery as well. The Hi-Perfomance 351 will need rockers, adjustable push rods, a water pump and an intake manifold. It does include a couple of Holley carbs, condition unknown. I am not sure what the "Dan Gurney Special" package included, you'll have to look that up. This car originally did not come with A/C, however, I installed the factory A/C heater case and dash wiring harness. You'll have to come up with the compressor, condenser and hoses if you want A/C. Please look at the pictures, more available upon request. With a battery and a little gas, it should start and run long enough to get on a trailer just fine. This item is also up for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I have represented this item to the best of my knowledge, it is being sold in AS-IS condition, so bid accordingly. No guarantees are expressed or implied! Please be sure all your questions are answered before bidding. Please be honest in your emails when corresponding with me, I will do the same. Non-refundable $1000.00 deposit due within 48 hours of auction end. Buyer to pay balance within 7 days of auction end, unless other arrangements have been made PRIOR to bidding.
