Hello to everyone that's interested in this superior and very near perfect 1980 Jeep CJ-5. I will tell you all about this jeep but first let me tell you a little story concerning this outstanding example of a true powerhouse and why it's for sale. "UPDATE" I am now showing you all what the reserve price was but this time it will be a buy it now and I will be accepting reasonable offers. The highest offer within reason will be the new owner and I assure you 100% that you will not in any way be disappointed. This is truely a very rare opportunity to own a very solid, very sharp, and is in excellent condition throughout. This is a one of a kind classic jeep that will stand up with the best of them. My name is Bob, I am the previous owner of this beautiful jeep. I didn't like the idea of selling it but I have a 2 year old daughter who is far more important to me than my toys. My reason for selling was to invest in my daughters future and pay for her college tuition early through the (my Florida prepaid college program) where I pay a one time price in full and her college (4-year), all books, housing etc. is completely paid. Nevertheless, I am listing this one of a kind near perfect specimen of a jeep for the man who bought it from me (the new owner – Keith Holland). The reason that he has asked me to sell it for him is simply because I know everything about the jeep and why he now needs to resell it. This story is for people who have a heart and who have general care and compassion for other people. It begins like this; approximately 4 months ago Keith who lives in Doniphan Missouri and works as a first responder fireman bought my jeep from me right here on eBay. He had wanted a jeep that was in very good condition for a very long time and that's exactly what he got from me. He drove all the way from Missouri to my home in Edgewater Florida with a car hauler behind his truck to pick up the jeep. When he arrived he was more than surprised with the overall condition, how solid it was , and how very clean it actually was. He said “ boy it looks much better in person than it looks in the pictures” and I will vouch for that. You can eat off of any part of the engine compartment. The undercarriage, frame, transmission, along with everything else are just as clean. Take a good look at the pictures and see for yourself. More importantly, Keith drove home the following day with his new jeep. When he arrived, he unloaded it and parked it his garage and it has been there ever since. He had plans for it. He bought a brand new “old man emu 4 inch suspension lift kit with new wrangler springs, new shocks, and everything else needed to install the entire kit”. Within two weeks of buying the jeep he noticed a lump on his neck. He went to the Dr. and after a series of test's was diagnosed with throat cancer. He has had several surgeries over the past few months to hopefully remove the tumor. Now, today, Sunday 08/22/2010 he is off to St. Louis for 7 weeks of intense radiation treatment. Lets all be praying for him and his family. With that said, I will tell you that when he arrived here at my home he appeared to be the picture of health but sometimes life just isn't fair for some of us. I must ask, have you yourself ever been the victim of cancer or have you known someone that has been the victim of cancer? If so, then you will understand just how taxing it can be for not only Keith but his entire family. He is out of work indefinitely and the medical bills are piling up with many more to come. This is why he needs to sell his jeep. Here is a young man who devotes his life to helping others but now the tables have turned on him and he is the one who needs help now. With the sale of his jeep it will at least help take care of some of the mounting medical bills he is acquiring. He asked me to take care of the listing for him and he is only asking a price to cover what he has invested in the jeep. Therefore, the reserve price is going to be set at a very reasonable price consisting of what he paid me for the jeep plus what he paid for the brand new suspension lift. I will tell you, the reserve price is now $3,500 less than what I've been told by many jeep enthusiasts of what it is actually worth. Please don't ask me what the reserve price is because I'm not going to share it with you. Just bid away and see what happens and please don't think that because he is in need that you are going to be able to get this beauty for nothing because it's not going to happen. If the reserve price is hit, please keep on bidding because this young man can use all of the financial help he can get. Remember, he is fighting cancer and still has a long road ahead of him before he gets the all clear from the doctors and is able to return to work as a fire fighter and helping others. Now about the jeep: As I said, it is very near perfect! The only things that this jeep needs is a new owner and a new temperature gauge. Everything else works perfectly with not one issue. This gem is powered by a fuel injected 350 HP – 360 V-8 linked to an automatic 350 turbo transmission that will literally pin you back in the seat if you choose to experience the meaning of G-force. The tires are like new 95% tread remaining, 31x11 ½ x 15. Rims are aluminum and are in fantastic shape. New steering box bracket 3/8 inch powder coated solid because the stock brackets are flimsy especially with oversize tires. New steering stabilizer shock and new steering stabilizer arm. With these upgrades there is no wobble in the steering and no wondering while driving down the road. I kept this jeep in the garage just as the previous owner and just as Keith is doing now. I only took it out on nice days to have a little fun. When I was out there was nothing but thumbs up and continuous compliments on how nice the jeep was. It does not have a good top. It does have the spare tire carrier. It also comes with a brand new custom made stainless steel dash with cutouts for 2 5/8 inch auto meter gauges and a 3 3/8 inch cutout for an in dash tachometer. This dash I ordered myself $250.00 and gave it to Keith when he bought it from me. There are also a few other extras but I can't remember all of them off the top of my head. Remember, you will not only be getting a great jeep at a better than great price; you will helping with a very good cause.
