Back in the early 1990's Triumph's owner and CEO John Bloor challenged his engineers to create a Triumph cruiser which was uniquely "Triumph". They began by using their ultra sturdy and powerful water cooled in line three cylinder engine whcih as in use in their Thunderbird, Legend, and Thunderbird Sport models. Attaching it to a slightly raked out frame with a larger front wheel and smaller rear wheel and "whale tail" rear fender they created the Adventurer. This is the first Triumph Mr. Bloor himself had a hand in designing. It came out in very limited quantities in late 1995 as a 1996 model and sold for $10,995. It was changed slightly in 1997 and remained pretty much unchanged until production stopped on it after 2001 (when the new Bonneville was launched, and soon followed by the America). This bike has developed a cult like following for its cruiser look with performance more akin to a sportbike. It will shred most of the new v-twin offerings from both Japan and the US with its brisk accelleration and precise handling. This bike really flies!
