If you are thinking about getting a Z3 Roadster try the M Roadster version. It is so much more fun for a few pennies more and the resale value is always good. Up for sale is my wife’s 2000 M Roadster in Evergreen. This is a very rare color and the interior is evergreen and black leather. This car gets a lot of compliments on the color. We are the 2nd owners of the car since new. The first was a woman in the L.A. area who leased the vehicle. We purchased this car in approximately January/February of 2006 and at that time I think it had about 78K miles. It currently has approximately 116K*. *Mileage is stated at the time of the ad. Additional miles may be placed on the vehicle through commute to work and back by my wife. My wife and I are expecting so we are looking into upgrading to a Volvo S60R. The car is kept in a garage at night and on weekends when not in use. We do not leave this one outside overnight and I believe I have most service records since we have owned the car. I have done certain maintenance myself. About the car: We had a prepurchase inspection prior to purchase as sub frame damage appeared to be a problem on these cars due to the fact that people would beat them, or track them and end up ripping out either the front or rear subframe – running into curbs or off track. Just beware if you are looking into a M roadster or Z3 ask about subframe damage. It is easy to spot especially if the subframe is newer than the car. This car has no subframe damage and has never had any. If you run the Carfax you will note one accident – we were able to track down the information and it appears that the previous owner hit a pedestrian and the hood was replaced. We did our homework before buying the M and a sign of a good M is that each body panel has the original VIN stamp on it. If not, then it means that panel has been replaced. Another common problems with the car is the Airbag light, so if you see a cockeyed shot of the odometer on a car you are buying most likely the seller is trying to block the viewer from seeing it. Airbag lights coming on are an issue with the M and Z3 Roadsters. O...another recommended service is replacing the expansion tank as they tend to crack and leak. Ask the seller if the car you are interested in has had this service done. Service at least since we have owned it: Mobil 1 for all oil changes Radiator, expansion tank, hoses replaced at I think around 90K – I have to check the receipt. We noticed some coolant leak and took it into our mechanic. The crack was at the top so - no, the car did not overheat. Sparkplugs – done Passenger and driver's side seat belt receptacles replaced and intermittent wire from recepticals to wiring harness replaced. I just changed oil, air filter and fuel filter. Front brakes and rotors were done shortly after purchase and still (amazingly) have a ways to go. Rear pads and rotors turned before purchase and they to have a ways to go. Factory M Illuminated shift knob Factory Headlight Switch Replaced Driver's side seat leather with BMW OEM both top and bottom as the back bolster was worn Top works and is in good condition. We always use a rear window plastic protector when folding down the top as it protects the plastic rear window from damage and scratching. This car is a blast to drive and I don’t think there is a better torque range of any car in its class in 3rd gear. It is on its second set of BFG G Force Sports from Costco. I have attempted to repair some of the rash on the rims which was caused by their tire installers NOT running into curbs but please see condition per pictures below. All rims are straight and no dents. My wife named the car “Mona” so if you want to continue to call her that, who knows maybe the car is used to it. Features: Cloth top original I believe – all 2000 and later models came with cloth insulated tops. S52 Motor - 240HP Traction control (ASC) which may be disabled by the driver via a factory switch. Front and side airbags Harmon Kardon premium sound system Alarm system and remote door lock/unlock system – though the new owner will have to get a fob from the dealer. Leather interior – seats, shift nob, door panels, steering wheel. Mesh Wind/screen Autodimming rearview mirror Heated seats - I know sounds wussy but they are so nice to have while driving with the top down Ice Cold Air M Floor mats Top Boot Cover Heated mirrors Bentley Manual Ok - now the not so good. I have taken a picture of 1 tiny ding above the rear tire and paint chip - see pictures with fingers. The front spoiler has some small wear spots from getting to close to parking lot cement stops. You can't really see them from the top so I took pictures from the ground up. Boy I got an earfull for that! In addition, the rearview diming mirror is has malfunctioned and will need to be replaced. Not much else to tell as this car is original and we are going to be sad to see her go but happy someone else will enjoy it. Overall the car is in excellent shape from the interior to the exterior.
