We built him a beautiful 911 and took ownership of the Bugeye. After sitting on this project with no time on the horizon to resume and complete it, we have opted to sell and allow someone else the opportunity to own a hot-rod Bugeye dream car near completion at a mere fraction of what has been invested, in fact, the opening bid is less than the Rivergate engine and transmission build cost…more on that to come bellow: This lovely Bugeye started out as your run-of-the-mill neglected specimen, none-the-less the previous owner was in love with it and set out on a mission. As such, this vehicle has received skilled sheet metal work and as many panels replaced as deemed necessary, what pieces were not available such as rear wheel house components were hand stamped and fabricated…cost not withstanding, the metal work is phenomenal. The undercarriage is actually mostly finished with Wurth undercarriage stonguard and finished in the correct shade of (I believe old English white?) Austin-Healey color as selected by the customer. Bellow is a list of most items that were replaced or come with the vehicle, please note that there is well over 30k between engine/trans, parts, materials, hardware and labor hours invested into this project, this was to be a high grade vehicle and the work already done to it represents that. A good body man or a skilled DIY kind of person can complete this project, most hard work has been completed. Yes it will require some labor hours by a competent person to complete and some parts will still need to be sourced but this is a bargain for someone who know what he/she is looking at. What you see in the pictures and what is in the parts list is what comes with the car though if we come across any other components (and probably will) we will gladly include those as well, the windshield frame has a section broken off as I recall and bright work along body opening will need re-anodizing etc. The car will come with 35mm photo documentation as per photo in auction as well as receipts for Rivergate engine/trans, engine installation manual from Rivergate and many parts receipts. Doors are included as is the grille and most other parts that came off the car.
