Vehicle Detail
For Sale 1969 Pontiac Firebird. The vehicle is pretty complete, minus the motor, of course. There is no visible rust on the body of the car. The is a problem with the roof, apparently some kids climbed on top of the car and did a pretty good job of caving it in. I don't know if it is fixable or not, I am not a body man. I planned to convert the car to a vinyl top and call it good. There is also bondo on the car, I don't know how much since I haven't sanded the car down, but I am sure with a 40 year old car there would be some on every panel. I had a paint and body guy tell me that bondo is easier to fix than rust, so I guess that is a plus. The car is very solid, the doors close solid as a rock with no sagging or hanging. The trunk is rust free, there was a little bit of pitting but I used some of the rust to primer paint and then sprayed some trunk coating spray in there. The shock towers are solid, I don't know if they are stock or if it was a repair job, but whatever it is, it is solid. All the glass in the car is good, but the rear quarter windows are off the tracks and I didn't know how to get them back on. The cranks operate smoothly from end to end so it feels like the regulators are good. There is a B.O.P. Turbo 350 in the car. The guy I got the car from said the transmission was rebuilt, but I never put an engine in the car so I have no way of knowing for sure. I know the tranny is clean and has a relatively fresh coat of paint, so if the guy didn't rebuild it at least he cleaned it up and painted it.....haha. The rear end is the 10 bolt non-posi. The interior is all there, except for a shifter. There is a Hurst Pro-Matic in the picture but I took that out for another project. The carpet is pretty new and the seats were re-done before I got the car. There is some cracking in the vinyl head rest and the top of the back seats. The door panels are in good shape. The speedo goes to 160. The car has pretty new wheels and tires on it. There is some surface rust on the wheels from having been sitting for so long, but chrome polish may take it off. I have a clear New Mexico title for the car. Questions??? Please feel free to call or text me at 520-456-4243.
