Vehicle Detail
Only 700 made in 1976 per Wikipedia. Bought by US Coast Guard officer in July 1977 in Japan while stationed there. Owned and garage kept by this individual up until May of this year (2010). I am the second owner. I bought the Mazda from the original owner because he is moving out of our area and didn't want to take along. Prior to purchase, it had not been started for approximately five years but my mechanic got it going for me. At this point I can get it started but you need to work with the choke to keep it going (running rough)... probably from not being run for those five years. The truck has its original 13B wankel rotary engine. It has the original ‘cardinal red’ finish is in quite remarkable condition. I used a commercially available product to remove the oxidation from the finish and it shined up amazingly well as you can see from the pictures. There are spots of rust around the doors as you can see. A number of years ago the original owner had installed larger mirrors and the holes he drilled to mount the mirrors have rusted. The exhaust system (converter heat shield, tail pipe) needs repairs. The front grill, bumper is absolutely free of any damage, scratches, cracks, discoloration or dings. There is slight hail damage on the hood from a storm that came through our area shortly after it was moved from garage to driveway in May. It has a rear bumper and the tailgate is in excellent condition and ‘Rotary Power’ is bright white as you can see. I used a spray foam cleaner on wheels and tires and all shined up great. I used a spray on engine brightener which really cleaned up the engine nicely. Other characteristics: Interior, dash, seats, floor boards and mats all original and in excellent condition Working AM/FM radio installed Truck bed is free of rust and in very good condition. Has bed mat that can be removed Two sets of keys including two small pull up keys for telescoping antenna Tires are in good shape New battery Topper locks in back and I have key for it. Topper is in very good condition. Jack and jack handle and other tools that came behind the seat are here. The owner had installed an AM/FM radio and kept the original AM radio and that’s included. Box of miscellaneous filters etc. See what wikipedia has to say about the Mazda Rotary Pickup at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_Rotary_Pickup I have the following documentation: Clear title in my name Contract documentation (Bill of Sale) for the original purchase Original owners manual in its original plastic sleeve Manufacturer's Limited Warranty and Service Coupons Book (2) Chilton’s Repair and Tune-up Guide 1972-1975; Rotary Pick-up 1974-1975 Rusty Jone’s Rust Proofing Warranty (no longer in effect) Marine Corps Exchange Auto Sales Transmittal of Documents referencing the Bill of Sale and Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin Freight documentation and insurance paperwork for shipment from Hiroshima to Tampa Terminal Charge documentation for Lavino shipping Company when truck was shipped to Tampa, Fla when the original owner came back to US Thank you for viewing and good luck!
