You are bidding on a 1978 Ford F250 Pickup Truck. My Father has owned this truck since 1983 and recently transfered the title so that I can sell it. I belive that he was only the second owner having bought it from a local trailer company. It's supposed to be a special heavy duty model capable of hauling 1 ton instead of the standard 3/4 ton. I tried to research the vehicle certification label but could'nt find any info that far back. The codes are: Axle 22J, Transmission G, Body ED4 with a 133 inch wheel base. The truck has 131,464 original miles my Father used the truck for household garden and lanscape projects and put very few miles on it, I have some of the old vehicle inspection papers which show 125,203 miles for 1996. Overall the truck is in very good condition, the only additions to the stock engine were an Edelbrock 600 cfm electric choke carburetor, Mallory Hyfire ignition, and a dual exhaust with glass pack mufflers. The interior was modified in the 1980's with bucket seats and a removable center console/storage compartment. The radio is long gone but all the speakers and wiring are present. The 23 channel Midland CB still works and has a magnetic base antenna. All four guages and speedometer work along with turn signals, lights and horn. The truck is equipped with front and rear trailer hitch attachments and the original owner installed a trailer brake control under the dash along with a trailer light connection under the rear bumper. The 460 engine is in excellent running condition with tons of power, the 3 speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, neither the engine or transmission leak. The power steering pump has a slow leak, the factory AC unit is complete but no longer works, paperwork shows that the heater and evaporator core were replaced in 1995. The truck has an auxillary fuel tank which we never used it looks complete and undamaged but would probably need to be cleaned. The 5 year old tires are in very good condition showing little wear. The 8 foot bed has a removable liner which is still in good condition. Overall the body is in good condition the clearcoat paint has peeled off from the hood and cab roof, there are some rust bubbles around the door bottoms, tailgate, and bumpers. There is a rust hole near the base of the rear window (see photo). The mag wheels are rusty. The only noticable body dent is on the passenger side cab roof (photo). The windshield has had a crack down the center for the last 25 years all of the other windows are good. The storage/tool box on the passenger side shows the original red/white paint (photo) The jack and spare tire are present and in good working order. The battery is new and the old sealed beam headlights have been replaced with brighter halogens.
