Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and developed by Alejandro DeTomaso (who had taken over Maserati in 1975), the Quattroporte was the vehicle of choice among Italy's corporate and government leaders, including the president. Drivetrain: The Maserati listed here retains its stock 4.9-liter V-8 engine with Chrysler TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission. No Leaks , engine sounds great and transmission shifts properly. I purchased this car only few months ago from the Peterson Automotive museum, since then I have spent a lot of money in repairs and changed many parts with Genuine Maserati parts. The car looks and runs great , beautiful exterior as well as interior. I bought it because I always wanted one and now i don't have a parking for it . The Car is currently registered in California and Registration is paid for until December 2010. Beside oils and fluids, I have changed : Fuel Filters. Fuel regulator. Spare Plugs. U joints Axle Joints. Distributor Cap. Belts. Brakes. Hood Hydraulic holders. I also have some brand new parts that I purchased for as needed basis , like a starter , alternator , front brake pads and others. Exterior: Doors, hood and trunk fit well and shut tightly. Paint looks good, although it appears to have received a more recent paint job. The trunk cover does not align 100 % with the car body, it needs minor adjustment. Interior: The gathered glove leather interior is in good shape. The finished briarwood trim in very good conditions , no chips or cracks. Kenwood AM/FM radio with tape deck and aftermarket Pioneer speakers in rear. Equipped with A/C, power windows, and power seats. Spare tire and tool kit in trunk.
