This rare and collectible BMW is one of just under 7000 bikes made in Berlin from '89 to '93, (all but 600 stayed in Europe). It featured such innovations as wind-tunnel designed bodywork with the lowest drag coefficient of any mass produced bike until the Suzuki Hayabusa came along, and an unconventionally mounted 4-cylinder engine with Fuel Injection. This bike is very fast for it’s size with a top speed of 155 mph, and has very comfortable ergonomics. In short it makes a unique and distinguished Sport Tourer with the emphasis on Sport. This bike is guaranteed to turn heads and start conversations wherever you go. If you enjoy riding something that few others have, this bike is for you. It has just under 22,000 miles. I am the second owner. The previous owner has removed the ABS System. The thinking was, weight savings and better handling as so much of the weight of the ABS System was located in the upper fairing near the handlebars. (close to 20 lbs.). I can’t say I ever missed it, as the bike handles like a bike half it’s size ! However all the ABS parts were saved and passed on to me and can be reinstalled. The bike has always been garaged and well cared for. It does have two small stress cracks, one near the upper glove box and one on the right front fender near the fork tube which seem to be common to K1’s. It has recently been serviced with all fluids and filters changed. It comes with the optional heated grips, the extra gauge package, the original owners manual and the original tool kit.
