Vehicle Detail

1965 Triumph TR-4A Convertible British classic sports car, a Black 1965 Triumph TR-4A. Original owner drove the car for approximately 5 years and parked it with 52,000 original miles showing on odometer. Owner started restoration on the TR4A approx. 20 years ago. This TR4A does NOT have Independent Rear Suspension(IRS), original owner did not want this option. Local body shop installed two new front metal fenders and two new fiberglass rear fenders approx. 20 years ago, repaired some minor rust issues near rocker panels, and repainted car the original black color (paint needs redone, cracked and flaking off-Car has ONLY ONE repaint with original color). Trunk, underdash and engine compartment appear to have original factory paint. The TR4A appears to be very original (factory intact). The original wool carpeting is in good condition. The seats have the original leather upholstery but they are cracked and should be recovered. The foam, frame, and padding are in good shape. The wood on the dash, gauges and original glove box is very good condition. The undercarriage of the car was painted by the owner with red oxide paint. Floor boards and trunk floor appear to be factory original and solid. The frame has some surface rust but I do not see any rot or holes (I banged on frame several places with a hammer, no rot, very solid). New brakes, shocks, exhaust, and tires were installed several years ago. (Tires should be replaced, although they are new, they appear to have dry rot) Factory spoked wire wheels were sandblasted and painted. Engine ran when parked approx. 20 years ago, it turns over but I did not attempt to start it. Car is not drivable in present condition, it will need trailered. Original intact "Biscuit" under the hood. Original Lucas headlights. Wiring appears to be original and in good condition. Convertible top installation needs to be finished i.e. snaps installed,etc... Brakes and hydraulics will need redone due sitting too long in the garage. Included: several boxes of parts and tonneau cover that covers the interior when the top is off, side pieces of chrome with side marker lights are included, new stainless trim that mounts on top of front fenders are included. Brand new Gel battery. Original paper work i.e. owners manual, shop manual, and sales brochure. Windshield rubber is dried out and cracked. Original 1970 PA inspection sticker on windshield. I have tried my best to describe the Triumph to the best of my ability. I may have missed something, so ask any questions that may not have been addressed. Comes with a clear Pennsylvania title. The Fine Print: I am selling the Triumph in "as is" condition with no warranty expressed or implied. You are welcome to inspect car prior to bidding; in fact I recommend you inspect or ask questions prior to bidding. I require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit preferably by Paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance is due within 7 days of the auction end date. The car must be picked up within 10 days of the auction end. A $20.00 storage fee per day will be charged beyond the 10 day period unless prior arrangements have been made. Happy Motoring! I recently tried to get engine to run, but found I had no spark. I installed a new coil, ignition wires, rotor, condenser, distributor cap. Still no spark?!?! Hey Triumph Guys, any ideas why I still do not have spark??? Checked oil pressure at each cylinder, approximately 125 PSI at each cylinder. Engine turns over like it wants to start. No time to trouble shoot or work on it. That is why I am selling it!!! :) Please Note: Contact us prior to bidding if your Feedback is less than 10 or if you have negative Feedback (we reserve the right to cancel bids if you do not contact us first). We reserve the right to close auction early due to auto being offered for sale locally. Cashier's check needs to clear bank before auto is released. You are welcome to come and inspect vehicle prior to bidding. Thank you for looking!
