Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on Grandma's 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 4 door Holiday Hardtop Sedan.CAR DOES NOT RUN. CAR HAS BEEN PARKED IN THE GARAGE SINCE 1997. Built in 1971 at the Framingham, Massachusetts factory (which has since closed down). Serial number 127083ALL MATCHING NUMBERS. Completely original with the exception of a newer corroborator This car was the true definition of a Grandma's car. She was the original owner. She purchased the car shortly after she got her license when she turned 40 and that was after she had just moved out to Long Island from Brooklyn in the early 70's. Never drove faster than 30mph around town. Never really left town either for that matter! Grandma passed away this past winter and I just can't afford to fix this car up the way it deserves. So my loss is your treasure. This car is and has always been garaged in Massapequa, NY. Nick named "Bessy". The engine is the original 350 v8 rocket with a newer 4 barrel carb and an automatic transmission. Engined still turns (so the engine is not seized and the starter and electrical is still good) but it does not turn over. Exterior is in almost mint condition. I backed the car out of the garage to wipe the dust off and it still shines. NO RUST AT ALL. ANYWHERE. Rear and front quarters are clean where the lower corners of the windshields meet the body (always a trouble spot on classic cars). Trunk is rust free as well. This car has 120968 miles on it. Front grills were replaced with 1973 grills. Old ones were damaged back in the 80's. Don't remember the story about that but I think it was a bird or something that flew into the car!! :) Front and Rear bumpers are dent free and they are chrome but they don't shine like they used to. All of the trim is completely intact and it even still has the original hub caps. Tires are at least 13 years old but they are still holding air. This car is called the Holiday Hardtop because it lacks the center post between the front and rear door windows. A rare find. The interior is also all completely original. and 40 years old. It's all there but it is showing it's age. Both front and rear seats are vinyl bench seats. Front seat is torn and we put a seat cover on it back in the 90's. Back seat is clean. Carpets are not torn but again, they are 40 years old. The entire dash is complete and clean. No pealing vinyl or trims. This car is being sold AS IS. Local Pickup only. No shipping.NO RESERVE... BIDDING STARTS AT $1000 I recommend a flat bed trailer or tow truck. Just a reminder that the tires are at least 13 years old.Appointments can be made to see the car after 5pm, Monday through Friday, and almost any time Saturday and Sunday.. If you do purchase the car to be rebuilt / refinished please send me pictures :)
