Vehicle Detail
Hear is the real deal! I have one of Chevy's best cars ever made!!...... She is a '65 Corvair Corsa Turbo and she can be yours! This is a fantastic little car, runs very well and is such a Blast to drive!! She is a true Factory 180hp Turbo model with a 4 speed tranny. Such a fun little car to drive! Now this is the "Corsa" model, probably the most sot after model. Everythig seams to be original except for the color. I even have the original owners manual and warranty booklet with the protect-o-plat still in it (pretty rare!) She is kind of a on going project, (so to speak) she needs some TLC. . Sure she needs a few things, but show me a 45 year old driver that doesn't. Right now the Turbo does NOT Boost , But the car runs fantastic with out it. .. Since it is not boosting right now,the car is down on power a little, but still runs great!!. I have talked with a Corvair mechanic (in Anderson) about the Turbo, and he will rebuild the turbo for $700 (worst case) and will stand behind his work.(pretty good deal) That is if you decide to have it rebuilt . You don't have to. This is a 45 year old car so there might also be a couple of other small issues that I am unaware of , but one has to expect things like that on a car of her age. All in all, she is a pretty good old car!.....The car Drives, runs and stops GREAT! . Now she is not a show car!!..... I'd call her a daily driver (maybe a 10 footer) Looks real nice though and has no major rust that I have been able to find.. Would be a great car to drive and enjoy. Seams like just about everyone I meet has a Corvair story from back in the day. . These cars handle wonderful, they are the 1st car that Chevy ever built that had complete independent suspension on all 4 corners. The inside of the car is in pretty good shape (for a car of her age) But at some point you may want to replace the headliner and maybe a couple of other small things...Oh yes!, the speed-o needs a new cable ($35) and gas gauge needs a new sending unit, ($68 part) .The tach, clutch, tranny, brakes and everything else seam to be in very good working order. The under side of this car looks fantastic, really solid! The trim for the windshield is in the trunk but you will need to get new exterior Corsa bagging for her, some how they all got lost during the painting of the old girl. She has Camaro late model wheels on her with 60 series tires that look almost new, they really look awesome on her!!! She was just painted in early Aug. and the new owner will need to buff her out. Should probably wait at least 30 days or even longer before doing so... (so the pant has time to cure) Now there is a little rust on the car, it is on the dash at the base of the windshield BUT this is the only rust that I can find on her, the floorboards, the trunk, the rockers are all 100% Solid!! . Haven't had this car very long,. Got it from my oldest son, he had been driving her for almost 3 years with no problems at all. I went and put a quick paint job on her just because the old paint was faded pretty bad and just plain ugly!!!.. I've have been diving her everyday to and from work for a couple of weeks now, (50 mile round trip) and she is doing just great, with no problems at all, seams to be very reliable. I would not be afraid to drive this car anywere and sure is a lot of fun to drive, also draws a lot of attention! I love Corvairs and the only reason I'm selling her is in order to be able to finish a couple other other projects that are awaiting my attention in my garage.. Wife tells me that Ihave to many toys! ...But the longer I drive this little jewel the more I love her, so I hope she goes quickly, LOL The car does not have a perfect paint job, but yet still looks pretty nice for a daily driver (maybe a 10 footer). She will look even better after she is buffed out and a little TLC . Yes, I have a good clear Indiana title for the old girl. At this price, I feel like I am almost giving her away, Just go out and look at what $2200 buys you theses days and you'll see that the "buy it now price" is a Real Deal!. ... Remember, the "Corsa" is the sport model and is the most sot after. I'm sure she will not go down in value and only go up! I do not know of a cheaper way to own a True "American Classic" that you can enjoy TODAY. Now because of her age she is being sold in "As Is" condition with no warranty, but only because of her age. I'm sure you can understand that. Also the winner is resposable for any shipping charges, "As is, Where is" She will make a GREAT little car for someone and that someone could be YOU! This is the Corvair that you have been looking for! Please ask any questions that you might have and I will try and answer them. Also, if you can please come by and drive her, I'm sure you will love this old girl .. (I'm about 10 miles west of Indpls. Indiana)
