For Sale – 1983 Jeep CJ-7 Limited, 64,200 original and documented miles, 6 cylinder, 5-speed, full hardtop and doors, repainted once in its original color Mist Silver Metallic, original seats and interior not redone, original dash, plus much more. Runs and drives excellent. The Limited package on the CJ-7 was only offered in 1982 with very little carryover into 1983. The story varies depending on who you talk to, but it is estimated that less than one hundred 1983 Limiteds were built, and overall limited production was very low from 1982-1983. The limited package was higher priced than the Laredo package and offered in three colors only, this color, Olympic White, and Copper Brown. It is the only Jeep in CJ history to offer cloth seats, door opening interior lights, door mounted mirrors, factory headliner in the hardtop, special colored wheels with trim rings, body colored fender extensions, bumper extensions, special “improved ride” suspension, and more. I have the dealer brochures, the original Limited emblems, and other documentation that goes with the Jeep. Surprisingly, the tachometer and clock was not standard on the Limited as shown in the brochure, and this one does not have them. I purchased this jeep in 2008 and refurbished it last year. It was a complete Limited in original condition when I found it and the interior is original as shown. I did what I am calling a 75% “Limited” jeep, leaving some of the original Limited features off to taste (see factory brochure) mainly leaving the door frames, windshield, and dash panel the same color as the body. However, I have all the original Limited pieces to make it a full Limited if you wanted and are included with the sale. These items include the slate blue dash panel, interior upper door panels, glove box door, the original limited side emblems, and more. I was intending to keep this Jeep so that’s why I finished it to the way I thought it looks best, a silver jeep with a rare package options and a blue interior. I even ordered the personalized license plates as shown for it last year, but getting into other things I am looking to sell. During the process, I spent a good deal of money on finding New Old Stock (NOS) parts and correct pieces for this Jeep. It has the correct NOS front bumper end caps that were specific to just Limited CJs, and a NOS front chrome bumper with the extra holes for these caps. The rear bumperettes have been rechromed and are in excellent condition. The gauges are original and the needles are bright. The cloth seats are original 1983 and with 64K on them do not crack and rip like the vinyl ones do. The dash pad is the original 1983 one in slate blue and is not cracked and has not been painted. The tilt column is tight and the leather wrapped wheel is original as well. The doors were completely dissasembled for painting, down to the bare shell, and reassembled with new or as new original parts, greased, and work perfect. They are not cracked or warped, and shut flush against the body with one finger. The door panels are in great shape and are the Laredo style which Jeep made in slate blue specifically for the Limited. The hardtop is the original 1983 top, rust free, the glass is factory tinted, and has its original Limited headliner which is the same cloth as the seat fabric. I have not reinstalled the top since painting and never planned to, using it as a summer cruiser only. It would easily bolt on for travel/shipping if need be. Every piece on this Jeep is in great condition, and has been assembled with great attention to detail. The door fit and finish is excellent, the doors close flush against the body, and even the windshield frame is the original 1983 piece with no rust (flat style with no stamped reinforcement) Also included is a full indoor cover, and a special mirror to mount to the door pin when driving with the doors off.
