Vehicle Detail
This has been my baby for about 10 yrs now. I went shopping for what I considered the ultimate classic Saab 900, it had to be a Turbo, 5spd, preferably in black or silver, and with full factory Airflow kit, including Whaletail Spoiler, and of course it could have no rust. It took be awhile but i finally found this one on a dealer lot in San Diego, CA, and sight unseen had it shipped back over here to the midwest. Over the years its gone from daily driver to show car, and as the clearcoat on the top surfaces starting giving up it got regulated to storage and future project status. Ive had it back out and running lately and still really enjoy it, its very unique looking even among Saabs. As I mentioned the clear on the roof and whaletail is shot, the whole car was resprayed shortly after I got it, and altho it looked great at the time it hasnt held up very well. Cleans up and shines great for a daily driver tho. Stock spec Engine and trans work as they should, missing gascap is in car, headliner is black and perfect as are the door panels. Whaletail is loose on one side and has some dirt under it from storage. so I would recommend taking the other few screws out (not glued) and clean it thoroughly. AC doesnt work, front power windows are sticky and will need some attention. Radio is the later style c900 cd model, radio works great, cd works when it wants to. Speakers are from the Premium 9000 setup, and sound great. Car has later style 88+ brakes with brembo crossdrilled rotors and thus bolt pattern wheels, with cheeseslicer wheels and new 205 55 15 tires. Car sits slightly lower then SPG spec on Intrax springs and Bilstein shocks. If ive left anything out feel free to inquire before bidding. oh.....European Edition was a dealer package put together for 1987, all are silver airflow cars, supposedly to reflect what was "cool" in Europe at the time. I have seen 2 others in the last 10 yrs, and I am very active in the Saab community. On Aug-15-10 at 10:16:16 PDT, seller added the following information: wierd metal crack, and someones poor filler work, looks like someone tried to fix a small metal crack by filling it...this is not rust but you will want to fix it before painting. rock chip and spot rust on leading edge of hood another paint flaw/ rust spec, fix this when you have spoiler off to clean. There is another spot on the car about the size of your hand where you can see sanding marks, cant make it show up in a pic and most people wouldnt notice, as i said, the paint cleans up nicely and impresses most people but the quality of the paint work left something to be desire by us picky people. there was no rust repair done when car was painted because there was non to fix.
