The car runs and drives phenomenally in every respect. Great acceleration. Terrific transmission, clutch, etc. Brakes feel good. Steering feels good. Seats feel good. Interior and exterior in excellent condition. All systems are operational, with exception of cruise control not connected nor is the tachometer, but the right mechanic with a bit of knowledge and experience can get those working. The previous owner pointed to a placard partially in Japanese characters mounted on the engine with the an indication of "100,000 km (kilometer)" JDM which apparently indicates the mileage of the engine. 100,000km is about 62,000 miles. It is a CD20 model engine. I have really enjoyed this car through and through for the short time I've owned it, and it remains an incredibly fascinating car to me, but I really have my sights set on an altogether different acquisition and intend to use the proceeds from this auction to buy that. You can find some info about the engine on the world's biggest free online encylopedia if you like...I can't mention the name of the online encyclopedia because you're not allowed to do that on eBay, but it rhymes with "ickee-P-dee-uh." So go on there and so a search for List of Nissan Engines. It's not the only source for info about the engine on the web. It is the appropriate engine and transmission combination for this model Altima. The Altima is sold all over the world, and the same platform is used under many different names and badges, which you can find on the same online encyclopedia. The installation of the engine is absolutely gorgeous, with no dangling things or leaks. There is a small chunk of missing plastic from the forklift on the timing cover, which does absolutely nothing to effect performance or operation. The car gets phenomenal fuel economy and has great acceleration. The car will last and last...it's clearly durable. The car has almost new tires, and recently replaced headlight lenses (the older ones had crazing). It makes it look like a new car...see photos. All windows work great, including automatic-down feature for the driver. Power locks and keyless entry work great. There is a nice aftermarket AM/FM/CD Stereo installed that produces great sound. The air conditioning is totally freezing, and works great. The AC button spring got weak, and there is a very nicely installed red button that overrides that AC switch to the right of it that integrates so perfectly that it looks like it's there from the Nissan factory. When you push the red button, the factory LED on the AC switch turns on. There is a momentary contact switch for the glow plugs, but the engine has such good compression and timing that you don't even need it, even when the engine hasn't been started in weeks, months, etc. Maybe when it's cold out you'd need it, but I doubt even then you'd need. In other words you start the engine by cranking the "ignition" switch (I'm calling it the ignition switch, but obviously with a Diesel engine there is no spark ignition) without delay or waiting for pre-glow and it starts as quickly (if not quicker) than a properly tuned gasoline engine. Also note when you turn the ignition switch off, the engine turns off just as it should! I've been told it's enormously rare for people to go to such detail as to include that correct feature in an installation, that is a tremendous sign the powerplant was integrated with very impressive skill and experience. I'm other perhaps similar concepts would use "yet another" to turn off your engine, in an uncouth "workaround" of sorts that just doesn't look proper. In other words, this one was done correctly, and that's yet another indication of just how well the installation was done. The body has minor nicks, scrapes, and garage dings as you'd expect. The body of the car, and interior were clearly well taken care of. I know the previous owner, and I know the many, many thousand of dollars he put into it making this a great car...and when I say "many" thousands of dollars, I pledge to you I am not exaggerating. Pay close attention to any dings and scrapes exposed in the pictures, if those are of concern to you. With over 800 photographs every angle, inside outside, and underneath the car, there is full disclosure of anything visible int the photos. The previous owner, who I know, told me it got 42-48 miles to the gallon. I can't vouch for that at all, as I never took the time to actually test it and I don't know how meticulously and under what conditions he took those readings, or if the number is accurate. However, I do know that he drove fast on the highway, and if those numbers he claimed are accurate, I'd imagine if you'd be able to get over 50mpg by driving gingerly, perhaps at 60mph on the highway. The car includes the original owner's manual, with associated books, multiple keys and original working factory keyless entry remote control fob. There is some deterioration/flaking on the top of the steering wheel plastic. There is some pitting in the white plastic on the left side-view mirror. Take a look at the original supplemental "Altima" carpets in all 4 primary seating positions in the car...they are in great shape. This is another example of the great care under which this car was maintained. There is a tiny mark, that looks like a repair...about 1/2 the diameter of a dime, on the passenger seat. It might have been a cigarette burn that was professionally repaired, but I can see no other signs of smoking...the ashtray is spotless, that mark is the only one of its kind, and the cigarette lighter socket still has its cover, and there is no smoke smell. Regardless of what it is, it was repaired in a fashion that matches very nicely. I mention because you may not be able to make it out in the photos. In all of this description and in the photos, I try to be absolutely thorough about flaws rather than focusing exclusively on positives and in so doing I try to leave nothing out. I have been registered on eBay for close to 11 years and have 100% positive feedback. Any questions, message me through the eBay messaging system, and I will answer promptly. There isn an ~800 picture slideshow below, after the auction starts. Note that it only automatically displays the first 100 of the approximately 800 available pictures. That is not intentional, but rather a Photo Bucket limitation. To view the ENTIRE ~800 pictures, click "View all" near the bottom right of the slide show display. There will also be a 14-15 minute video of a walkaround, casual exterior/interior inspection, door open/close, engine start/running, and through road test including simulated highway/freeway (60 mph on fairly open road), over bumps, every forward gear, braking, reverse, parking, etc. AUCTION RULES: Payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction close, by either cash in person or bank wire only. (Once you get receive a fraudulent cashier's check from a buyer, you'll never accept another one either!). Pickup is due within 7 calendar days of auction ending, and may not occur until funds have been received and are no longer "pending." A $500 deposit deposit is due by PayPal within 24 hours of the auction closing. This car is sold As-Is with no warranties expressed or implied. You must study each picture and video carefully and fully. The following is the video I promised of a walkaround, chassis demonstration, and road test. A few notes: Someone is using a forklift in my business park in the background...you can hear that sound, it's not the car. The engine is relatively quiet and gets quieter of course as it gets warm as Diesels are expected to -- my camera's mic magnifies wind noise, and many other noises, and, lastly, feel free to fast forward through the traffic light wait around the 11th minute, but the acceleration right afterwards is a good demo: The following is a photo album with 791 pictures of every imaginable nook and cranny of the car. Note that the slide show visible below from the get go only automatically displays the first 100 of the approximately 791 available pictures. That is not intentional, but rather a Photo Bucket limitation. To view the ENTIRE ~800 pictures, click "View all" near the bottom right of the slide show display, preferably by right-clicking and opening in a new window or browser tab so you can continue to view the auction listing while those pictures are loading: The engine model is CD20 with the following specs: 1973cc 76 PS (55.9 kW; 75.0 bhp) @ 4800 RPM13.5 kg·m (132 N·m; 98 lb·ft) @ 2800 RPM. If you will be having the car transported (you are not personally picking it up, in person), add $40 to the final winning bid for express overnight document courier services. Storage charges are $150/week for any portion of a week past the first 7-days of storage -- the first 7-days is 100% free. ABSOLUTELY NO STORAGE PAST 14-DAYS, TOTAL! These fees are not waivable. The car is titled in my name, personally. On Aug-13-10 at 13:38:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi fellow eBay community members! Just wanted to give a quick update as to why I re-listed the car almost immediately after ending the auction early yesterday. I wasn't comfortable with a few typos in the listing, so I ended the auction, changed the typos and 20-minutes later I re-listed it. For all of you who had been bidding and inquiring before, feel free to bid again or make a Buy-It-Now offer.
