Vehicle Detail

All complete running/driving and original numbers matching 79 Camaro Z/28 350 engine (KHU8DRH and the cars vin number stamped on the block pad) 170hp with turbo 3 speed automatic and a 10 bolt 3.42 posi rear end. It just pulled out of a barn 3 weeks ago as it was stored in the same spot for over 12 years. This car has the very desirable red/red stripes, black custom cloth/vinyl interior, T-tops (bags are in the trunk), AC (compressor missing), tilt wheel, full gauge package and the 3.42-limited slip rear end. I originally bought the car for parts, mainly the perfect un-cracked black dash pad, but after some serious though, these cars are sky-rocketing in the muscle car market, getting had to find and most of all I do not have the heart to part it out. The car is by no means is a basket case, it just needs more work and time than I do not have. The car needs front drivers/passengers floor pans (or repairs), rear drivers side floor pan repair, drivers side front frame rail and the trunk drivers side floor pan is getting soft. The only rust that I could find on the body is the front passengers side fender lower corner (see picture), it need about a 3” patch on the bottom, easy repair. All of the door jambs, inner fenders, rocker panels, door seams are in very good condition with no rust holes, just some light scale, the overall body is very straight, no dents or body damage of any kind and as far as I can tell, it has the original paint still on the car a little faded, but what do you expect for a car being over 30 years old and 97,000 miles. The interior is in excellent condition, black dash pad is perfect with no cracks or warping, the seats have no rips or tares, just a few cigarettes burns on the drivers seat and console. The headliner vinyl is falling down (just need to be re-glued), could use new carpeting, sill plates and a rear package tray, all of the rear door/window panels are very nice with no chalking or sun damage/fading. From what I can tell all of the dash gauges work properly, the front drivers side headlight is burnt out, but all of the other lights/signals all work as they should. All of the glass appears to be in good condition with the exception of the front windshield, it is cracked down the center and will need to be replaced only if you are pulled over by officer friendly. The guy (owner) I bought the car from could not find the keys for the car so I had to take the key switch out of the column to get the car to steer/shift so I could get it up on the trailer, once I had the car at my shop I drained the old gas out of the tank, put new gas in it. I then pulled the ignition switch down from the steering column and started the car with a screwdriver, it only took about 30 seconds and the car was running. It runs remarkably well for sitting all of those years although new plugs/wires would make it run perfect. I added 2 pints of transmission fluid, took it for about a 5-mile ride and yes I had to find out if it had positraction, it sure does! The keys and the title for the car are missing at this time (still looking), however I have the guys name whom I bought the car from, it is titled under his name and he said he could go to the DOT if needed and apply for a lost title, but at this time the car will be sold with a bill of sale. I do not want to get a new title at this time because the car may end up getting parted out anyway. It would be a real shame to part this car out, I cannot do it, but am sure my brother could. My reserve is well below $2,000 which a very fair price for the rarity, options and overall condition of the car. If you want to see or inspect the car, please come and look!! You can call me (Phil) at 715-551-2215 or email me at phil5@charter.net for more info. If you want more specific pictures or if you have any questions (I am sure I forgot something), please ask. I can deliver this car anywhere in Wisconsin, maybe a little further for a flat rate of $125.00, or I can help you find a very good, reasonable and reliable carrier at your expense.
