You are looking at a RARE 1981 Delorean DMC-12 with ONLY 4,055 Actual Miles! This car has only had 1 owner. It has the original 6 cyl. engine and automatic transmission. It is 100% Complete! The Stainless Steel body is in very good shape as you can see from the pictures. This car does have the hood flap gas lid. Currently, it will run, but it tries to die when you give it gas. You can pour gas directly into the engine and it runs better. Also if you leave it running, the converter heats up. I was told that it needs some adjusting by a mechanic that knows these cars or the type of fuel system that they have to be able to properly adjust everything out right. In the past 2 months, I have had the fuel tank completely cleaned and replaced all of the following 1)New Windshield 2)Fuel Pump 3)Fuel Filter 4)Fuel Distributor 5)Fuel Accumulator 6)Spark Plugs 7)Air Filter 8)Door Struts 9)Warm Up Regulator 10)Frequency Valve 11)Oil Filter & Oil Change. I am trying to sell it just as it is and let someone else finish getting it running right. I have driven it around the block a couple of times, but it does need some adjusting. It will move in forward and reverse. All 6 of the cylinders have 140# of compression. The fuel pressure is right on. All of the parts were purchased from Delorean Motor Co. out of Houston or Delorean Auto Parts out of Dallas. The tires have tread left on them, but they do have dry rotting on the sidewalls from sitting. They will need to be replaced, although they do hold air. I do have the Delorean Repair Manual to go with the car also. It has a clear Louisiana title from 1985. Car is in North West Louisiana, Zip code 71009.
