Vehicle Detail
Hello everyone! You are looking at a 2003 VW Jetta GL wagon with the sporty 1.8T motor and automatic Tiptronic transmission. We purchased this vehicle brand new in 2003. Maintenance has been kept up on this vehicle from when we bought it. The mileage is all highway and the oil was changed every 5k miles. The vehicle doesn’t NEED anything to be driven. It is a very reliable and safe vehicle and has served my wife well. I say NEED because it is not a perfect car. The rear view mirror has just recently fallen off. Hopefully I will get a chance to attach it however bid as if it wont be! As you can see the front drivers side fender has been banged up! My wife went to change lanes and was lightly tagged by another car. It does not affect the drivability and if just cosmetic. I have found replacement fenders in junkyards for around $100.00 but haven’t had time to really put much effort into replacing it. That is the only ‘accident’ the vehicle has been involved in. My wife got a bit too close to a curb and scratched up a couple of the plastic wheel covers. The radio has been acting up recently. It doesn’t seem to get the best reception. I messed with the antenna and it seemed to improve but I am not 100 percent sure what the problem is. The check engine light is on. I had the codes read and it came back with the following: P0420 - Faulty catalytic converter, P0030O2 – front O2 sensor failure, and P2181 - Cooling system performance. Since then I have replaced the front O2 sensor and replaced the coolant temperature sensor. I replaced the catalytic converter at approximately 110k miles with a high flow unit. This was not to gain performance or sound but because it was less expensive than an OEM unit. Ever since then the P0420 code has been present. I just put in a rear O2 sensor spacer which is supposed to correct the problem. I just performed these few repairs and have not had the check engine light reset yet to see if it stays out. Also replaced on the vehicle is the following: -front passenger half shaft, catalytic converter – 110k miles -water pump, timing belt, spark plugs – 95k miles -front and rear brakes / rotors – 100k miles -front tires – just before this last winter – rears have about 15k left in them -valve cover breather hose, front O2 sensor, temp. sensor – just done The car has numerous light scratches and rock chips in the paint. Nothing out of the ordinary for a car that has 140k on it. The biggest ones have been covered with touch up paint before they got a chance to rust at all. The interior is in really good shape - again....for a vehicle with this many miles on it. I just cleaned it out and waxed it. The oil change isnt due for about 1500 miles. There are some light blemishes on the seats but no tears or anything crazy. The only hole in anything is in the drivers side floor mat from my wife's heel while driving and this can be seen in the pictures. My son has ridden in the back seat for four years so his area has some marks but again its not that bad. I have both keys (one has a dead battery), owners manual, original window sticker. This vehicle does have the traction control and is excellent in the snow - according to my wife! I can say I probably only drove this vehicle about a total of 1k miles since we have owned it but my wife is a very easy going driver. The car has not been beat on or raced. Just driven every day to and from work for the past seven years! The broken oil breather hose had spit some oil on the block but I just fixed that. It had been broken for some time and I was not aware of it. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. The vehicle is sold ‘AS IS’ with no warranty. I have the title in hand. The car is still registered and insured so if someone wants to test-drive it they are welcome to. I encourage you to come and see the vehicle if you would like. I will ship the vehicle a the buyers expense. I will deliver the vehicle in person for a reasonable fee and within a reasonable distance. Please feel free to ask any questions prior to bidding. I have 100 percent feed back and plan on keeping it that way. This vehicle lists at $4600 in fair condition on Kelly Blue Book. My reserve is WAY below that. This is good, reliable, and safe vehicle at a very reasonable price. The mileage could be a bit higher at auction end due to test drives. Thank you and good luck!
