1959 Dodge Coronet Ambulance converted to an ambulance by Memphis Coach Co. back in 59 for the US Military Specifically DMAFB here in Tucson. shows 14k on the odometer and thats believed to be original. A VERY RARE Piece of American History parked in 1965 and left in a plane hanger here in Tucson for 20 yrs. Motor I believe to be a 383 big block. Pushbutton Auto transmission. PB , a very rare option for 59. Motor wont turn over by hand, but we did spray some seafoam down each cylinder a few weeks Ago. It may loosen up with a little work. All the glass looks great with the exception of a chip out of the front windshield. Original jumpseats and Military ID Badges still in the cockpit and interior. What youll see in the pics below are: mild rust in some easy to fix areas lots of surface rust and crumbling original thick conversion paint etc. Only real rust is dr side rocker and some floor areas. Still unusual for an Az car but it came from the rubber floormats on the inside. 90% complete chrome and trim still intact and very presentable condition. mild hood and front end damage. Torsion Bar front suspension - excellent for modding ! original hardware still under the hood in engine bay sun beaten interior with chrome still very nice and much more ! Im sure maybe a handful of these still even exist and restoring it would be pleasure for anyone. Restore it to original or maybe turn it into a 59 Coronet "Ghostbuster" Style rig. Maybe "Christine" should of been this car instead ?!! Could make for a great Prop in a TV Movie or used for a Limo Service for special events !! Car comes with the stock blue 14" wheels on it and just roller tires. If winner wants the 15" 71 Challenger stock steelies and dog dish caps and rings, they are $400 more with nice BFG tires. The U.S. govt didnt give us a title with the car just a bill of sale, and we can give the new owner our bill of sale too. Apply for a title in your own city , its easy and doesnt cost much at all.
