Vehicle Detail
I am listing this truck for my friend so you can call him at 909-841-9550 if you have any questions. The auction will run until the end. This little truck was bought new by my friends uncle in 1961 and has been parked in the same garage for 50 years! He never changed trucks and he never moved. The uncle passed away several years ago and his aunt has finally decided it is time to part with his truck. This is a 1961 Chevy Fleetside Apache 10 Custom short box truck. It is completely original except for one repaint in the original color many years ago. It has never been in an accident and it retains all of it's original sheetmetal. There is one small ding on the left side and there is rust in the bottom of the front fenders. Other than that, the body is incredibly straight and rust free. The front grill, bumpers, tailgate, etc are very nice! The floors and window areas are perfect. The bed was covered by an aluminum camper shell for most of it's life so it is in very good condition. The wood planks will need to be replaced. The interior is completely original including the radio. The truck is optioned with radio and heater. There is a cover over the original upholstery which would need to be redone. The original rubber floor mats are still there. The original 283 V8 engine is intact with all of the factory components. We believe it may have been rebuilt one time. The original 3 speed column shifted transmission is still there and an overdrive unit was added in the 60's. The original wheels are still on it and a couple of the hubcaps are missing. It has been about 10 years since the truck was started or moved. It will need to be towed from the garage. 50 year old trucks this straight and original do not come up for sale very often. This truck will soon be in the hands of a new owner for the first time in 50 years! If you are in the market for one of these, don't miss this chance. A $200 deposit will be required within 48 hours. On Aug-15-10 at 18:29:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks to all of you who have placed bids so far. I have lowered the reserve as the widow has indicated she is willing to sell for just a bit more than the current bid.
