Vehicle Detail

For Sale: 1969 Chevelle Malibu sport coupe hard top that has been restored to high quality ss-396 look. I have owned this lemanz blue/white side stripe car for about two years. I purchased the car from a local chevelle enthusiast that passed away before completing car. I did not get the build sheet with car however, based on entire vin# I know that it is an original V-8 chevelle that was built in Kansas City MO plant in 69’ and that it was the 333,926 chevelle to roll off GM assembly line that model year. After doing some research, I discovered that malibus could be ordered with the ss-396 package however without build sheet or protecto-plate I can not say for sure. This car currently has a very strong 454 BB with quadrajet carb, HEI ignition and chrome erson valve covers and chrome oil pan. I do have a mini tach installed in dash as car did not come with one. The transmission is a column shift TH-350 with 2500 stall that connects to a non-posi 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 gears. Car has headers, flowmasters and dual 2.5” exhaust that exit before rear tires. This car sounds awesome with that distinct muscle car rumble. This chevelle has all the correct ss badging inside and out as well as astro ventilation. Car sports a black dash without any cracks. This chevelle has all original glass which is in very good condition. This car also has new black front and rear bench seats with brand new seat belts as well as new black carpeting. Car does have correct insulation but needs new headliner which I will include with car along with other parts including various interior parts and new fan shroud. I also have extra 4 barrel carbs, tranny pan and a 1967 chevelle deluxe steering wheel that I will include with car. Car currently sports a new grant steering wheel in woodgrain which is beautiful. Car does have very good 225/70/14 tires that are mounted on original 69’ ss spoke wheels which are in excellent condition. This car was a fairly high optioned car as it has power steering, a/c (missing compressor) astro ventilation, tilt, cruise missing underhood parts and front disc brakes. I have installed many new parts including entire fuel system from fuel pump to tank. Car also has new rear coil springs and shocks as well as wheel cylinders and brakes. I have changed the headlights to modern halogen for added visibility. The car does need a radio and horn as the one with car doesn’t work. The frame on this car is in excellent condition. As far as the body goes it’s in very good condition however, there are a couple of areas I want to mention. There is a very small area on the very bottom corner of drivers’ door that has some bubbles in paint but no rust through. The chevelle is an absolute pleasure to drive as it runs excellent and handles like a much newer car and gets 15 mpg with sensible driving. I really hate the thought of parting with my chevelle but tight work schedules, overtime and other obligations prevent me from enjoying the car much anymore. Thank you for looking at my chevelle!!! If you have any questions please feel free to send me a message. This car is perfect for someone that wants a car that does not need any major work done or that doesn't have the time to take on an entire project. Buyer responsible for pickup or shipping charges, Car will not be released until I have cash in hand. Thank you once again for looking and happy bidding. PLEASE NO TRADES ACCEPTED!!! On Jul-25-10 at 12:31:11 PDT, seller added the following information: This car is an excellent driver that needs very little to be perfect. However this is also a car that one can actually drive and enjoy without worrying about damaging the #'s matching drivetrain. If this was #'s match ss-396 car in this condition my reserve would be $25,000- $30,000, so this car is one that can be had at fraction of that cost and still have the look and all the fun without the worry. good luck!!!
