Vehicle Detail
The 1968 Dodge Monaco is over 42 years old: Starts, Runs, and Drives - a true original survivor. The Monaco is a C-body - full sized unrestored automobile and is fairly mechanically sound.A detailed description has been provided for your review and describe as accurately as possible.ENGINE & DRIVE-TRAIN:The 383 high performance engine has the H.P. dual exhaust manifold headers and a 4 barreloriginal factory installed carburetor part # C-6-1895. The carburetor as of this month hasbeen completely rebuilt - cleaned, new gaskets, etc... The dual exhaust is all-new, mounted with two cherry bombs. The engine is pulling over at least 300 horsepower. An automatic 727 Torqueflight transmission with a column shift works great! Never had any problems with the transmission. Brakes are in fine working order—15 inch drums with four 15 inch Dodge original custom factory wheel covers. All tires match and are in good condition. The car can get-upand move out very quickly— this drive-train has some real power behind it.This Dodge is truly a muscle car in disguise.HISTORY:When this 1968 Dodge Monaco was first plated in 1989, I became the second owner. The mileage was then less than 74,000 miles, now it is at 79,900 miles—still low mileage on a powerhouse383 h.p. I’ve managed to keep this fine and plated auto stored indoors on cement floors, and in good, mechanical running order. This Mopar is in Southern Wisconsin and is not far from whereit was special ordered and produced in Belvidere, Illinois. This hardtop Dodge has a very cool, unusual color scheme: all original yellow bottom, all original factory black vinyl top with green tinted windows, and a bug green 1960’s vinyl interior - the vinyl drivers seat is worn out. A dark green carpet is worn out here and there, and the green headliner has a few holes. This all-original car has a working radio with a whip style antenna. The Monaco is equipped with a rarelyseen option—an automatic Airtemp factory installed Chrysler air conditioning unit… it is innon-working order. Small Airtemp window decals are on the back windows. The hardtop has four power windows, all intact, but non-functioning. Steering wheel is in nice condition. The dash isok with some aged cracks. A fold down center armrest and factory seat belts are also nicefeatures. All lights and dash lights are in working order. All emblems are intact. The Monacohas some rust here and there, but mostly in the rear trunk area were it is in poor condition. The C-body gas tank was dipped three times and remounted to last. Has newer front torsionbars. Also has new 15 inch drum brakes, new lines, new exhaust, new shocks, new H.P. coiland H.P. plug wires, and new NOS front turn signals. In the trunk is an all original Dodge jack, spare tire, Monaco owners manual and a can of yellow Dodge paint.Over the years a lot of attention has been giving to maintain the 1968 Dodge Monaco hardtopin working order... as any old vintage automobiles their are still things needed to get done. The car has been describe as accurately as possible, according to observations and records. Please review the photos closely, sold as is - the car seen in the photos is what you get.Sorry—no viewing or test drives possible.TERMS:Currently the Monaco is titled and plated - Due to liability, insurance, title transfer, and platesissues I’m requesting the auto be picked up by trailer, auto transport, or flat bed-truckBuyer must provide all equipment and supplies for pickup of vehicle.NO INTERNATIONAL SALES - U.S.continental sales ONLY.Pick-up must take place within 1 week of auction ending date.
