Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a great project car (not complete) that is ready to restore. Comes with the decades of dust. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS THE LAST TIME IT WILL BE ON AUCTION AS IT SITS NOW. THE CAR IS SCHEDULED FOR RESTORATION STARTING IN OCTOBER. This car is a true California built 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback GT. 4 Speed. 390 engine. The engine and rear housing are long gone. The tranny is the correct one and I have it. This car was disassembled in the early 80s. I mean in pieces. I had a few pick up truckloads of parts plus the car when we brought it back to my place. It is a California built car and went to Arizona then I think to Wisconsin in the late 70s and then it pretty much sat. Not driven since 1980- it made its way with the owner to Iowa. It was heavily undercoated which prevented the Midwest winter salt from getting a hold on the metal and since it was in pieces, it wasn’t on the road. A lot of the undercoating has been removed prior to my owning the car. When I got it to my garage, I put new suspension, new big block rated front springs, installed the steering column and box, installed refurbished strut rods with new rod bushings, new adjusting cams. I cleaned up the front rotors and put new bearings so I could move it. I was planning on a full ground up restoration so I just hand tightened the parts-- no final assembly so keep that in mind when you see the panels not lining up I just wanted them attached. Anyway, while it was apart I sprayed Krylon on the inner panels to keep the great humidity from the Iowa weather from causing anymore surface rust conditions. I was going totally disassemble the car and blast it. The original quarters, quarter extensions, trunk lid, rear valance (complete with black duct tape), doors, drivers fender, all inner fenders, floors, radiator support, all frame rails are solid. The only rust thru is in the sections behind the rear wheels. The lower quarters are not rotted away. They are very solid just with pinhole rust up by the wheel lip. The outer wells are very good. There is some rust (4 spots) on the top of the inner fenders, but that can be fixed without removing the original panel. The drivers rear quarter has a dent, but I was just going to work it smooth. The goofy thing is the passenger rear frame rail has a nickel size hole in it. Right where it starts the bend to go under the rear seat area. Not from rust but it looks like someone punched something thru it. Again, not from rust but from ? The right front corner of the car took a small hit. I pulled and pounded the radiator support corner out to allow me to hang the fender. The top of the radiator support was pinched all the way across the top (the car was moved around and they used that for a lifting point) and that will need to be worked on. Doors have some issues with dings and an area about 4 inches long on the body line that it appears to be separated. The hood, pass front fender, front valance and battery tray are new reproductions. The headlight extensions, stone guard are original Ford parts and in good shape but not original to the car. The glass is all the correct coded glass and no cracks. It is all tinted. The floors, trunk floors and drop offs are in great original condition, very strong. Seat risers the same. The cowl looks solid. I don’t see any rust out in the top hat sections. The roof is in very nice shape. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. TRIM-- I have the front and rear window stainless, rocker moldings, wheel lip moldings, GT grille lights, bumpers, bumper brackets, taillights. I don’t have any bumper guards. I put a new fuel tank in the trunk area. Flip open gas cap (correct black GT letters) fuel filler pipe, wipers arms (no blades). The roof rail stainless is very restorable. I have quite a few parts in the trunk as well. INTERIOR—The interior has the original seats, panels, fold down seat, headliner etc…. I have the tach dash, the radio (beautiful shape) and shifter handle. I have 4 of the seatbelts but they are the female side only. I am presently looking for the male ends. I have a 65-66 heater box, etc… I could go on and on. Some of the parts I have are new reproductions (bumpers, wheel lip moldings stuff like that) and some of the parts are just old original pitted or grimy parts original to the car. The magnum 500 wheels also go with the car. MARTI REPORT. Yes, I have one. This car is lime gold, Ivy gold standard interior, 3:25 posi, 4 speed trans, 390 CID engine, GT Equipment group, Electric clock, am radio, exterior décor group, deluxe seat belts, sport deck rear seat. Ordered for Phoenix district. VIN 7R02S132***. All VINs are present on the inner fenders and the door tag. So bid away. Cash, or wire transfer. Everything including the wire transfer must clear before you even think about coming to get the car. I have a clear title as well. Buying as is for restoration. Buyer arranges shipping. Good luck bidding, you wont be disappointed. An original S code GT with a matching current title. PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR THE RESERVE. Thanks ********CHECK MY OTHER AUCTIONS AS I WILL BE LISTING OTHER ITEMS AS TIME PERMITS******* On Jun-03-10 at 04:52:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I DO NOT HAVE THE CORRECT REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY OR PUMPKIN AND DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ONE. THE REAR HOUSING IS NOT THE CORRECT ONE AS IT DOES NOT HAVE THE BIG DRAIN NUT AND THERE IS NO GEAR PUMPKIN. I DO HAVE THE CORRECT TRANS AND DRIVESHAFT.
