1998 BMW K-Series

This has been a great motorcycle for me but my son is going to college so I must sell it. I bought it with 97,800 miles on it and it has been great for me with no problems at all. I have put new tires on it and changed the oil and filter and that is it. It starts and runs like a new one. When I first got it I took it into the Indianapolis BMW dealership and had them put on the new tires and give it a full inspection (see picture of inspection paper). They said everything checked out perfectly except the final drive has a small leak and that I should keep an eye on it. All the time I have had it I have never had to add any to the final drive, it is a very very slow leak. The motorcycle comes with a top case and 3 extra windshields (four total, counting the one that is on it), stock, taller and tallest. The one that is on it I painted black and it is the shortest. I think it looks the best and it seems to take the air right over my helmet and is the most comfortable...for me, I don't mind a little air. Before I got it the rear spline had been checked and lubed and is in great shape. To be honest, every time I get on it I warm it up then run it up to at least 100mph and it runs great, very smooth. I don't abuse it, but they are built to use and enjoy. I have been stopped 2 times this past month for too much "enjoyment" but I did not get a ticket. When it is shined up it looks like a new one, it has some small marks on the right side but they are not very noticible. It makes me sad that I am selling it. I could help deliver it, just let me know and maybe we can work something out. Good tires, strong battery, The Givi top case comes with 2 keys. Motorcycle is for sale locally so may end auction early. I am relisting this because of a non paying bidder that didn't plan ahead. Please don't bid if you do not have the money to pay. This motorcycle also has an upgraded seat, and a headlight protector, a small tank pad as you can see from the pictures and upgraded mirrors that are mounted on the faring and not on the handle bars for better visibility. Also I will include an extra headlight bulb. The top case is the only luggage, there are no side mounted system cases (saddle bags).
