Vehicle Detail
This is a 2007 Suzuki DRZ400sm SuperMoto for sale. I am selling it to help bring down some personal debt. This is my fourth motorcycle and I have treated it to the same meticulous care, attention and affection that all of my ‘toys’ receive. You will not find a cleaner DRZ anywhere. I'm the second owner since 1250 miles, and now shows 7765 miles.* I don’t claim to be an authority on these bikes but I have learned a lot participating in the ThumperTalk forum and have addressed concerns that have been identified. The three most important issues – the fragile magnesium engine and clutch covers, automatic cam chain tensioner and counter-shaft lock-tite fix have all been addressed and corrected. I have changed the motor oil and oil filter every 1500 to 2500 miles, depending on what kind of riding I have done and the season. When I do my maintenance, I look over the entire bike making sure everything is perfect. I also wash the bike (some of my friends insist it is a ‘detailing’) regularly. The bike has never been dropped, laid-down or crashed. Although there are a few smudges in the plastic where a boot has dragged after a long ride (hehe) it's one of the cleanest and reliable DRZ’s you’ll find for sale. I have the original owner’s manual and a spreadsheet detailing all of the servicing and dates and mileage points for the installation of the accessories. This motorcycle is mostly stock except for a few modifications with choice parts in order to spruce it up a bit, make the bike more durable and fun to ride. Improvements/Accessories include: ThumperTalk Case Covers ThumperTalk manual cam chain tensioner Vapor Tach & pda dash *when installed, I put the actual mileage on the computer Zeta aluminum throttle tube 3x3 Air Box Mod & K&N air filter & jetted Mikuni carb DRC 602 smoke LED signals (front & rear) Edge Tail-tidy w/smoke LED brake light Galfer SS Braided lines (front & rear) EBC brake pads (front & rear) Unibiker radiator guards Battery Tender pig-tail RaceTech suspension & gold valves assembled by Aftershocks (Livermore, CA) Renazco Racing seat - Charcoal & Grey w/ Red stitching (VERY comfortable) Front brake caliper retaining bolts have been drilled and safety wired Newer Conti-Force SM tires (400 miles) Oil change & filter (Motul fully synthetic/OEM filter) The bike has always been garaged, and is plugged into a battery tender while not being ridden. I have the clean title in hand and in my name, and registration is not due until April, 2011. This is one of the funnest bikes I've ever ridden. It is light, easy to control and VERY forgiving. It is perfect for a beginning rider and gets close to 50 mpg. I hope I will own another one some day…
