1977 COBRA II MUSTANG This car was purchased in October 2004 from San Diego area of California, It was rust free but needed a lot of TLC and a paint job from California sun. The Gold Lemans stripes from front to rear are painted on instead of stripe kitted. Side Cobra II and snake emblems are from new stripe kit. Was restored in 2006 and garaged since, its been driven to three car shows and two cruise nights since being redone maybe 300 miles. Items replaced; New Edelbrock carb and air cleaner, Doors and hatch window seals, Rear center and right spoilers, front spoiler, side window louvers & snakes, headlight bezels, heater core, oil pan and valve cover gaskets, added dual exhaust and dual chamber muffler, gas cap (original left on a gas pump), Belts, hoses, brakes, rotors, 4 new center caps with snakes, 4 new tires. new alternator and new battery. 302 engine runs strong, automatic transmission was rebuilt and has been driven little since still needs broken in. Items replaced inside; Recovered front and rear seats & door panels $1130. New carpet front, rear and hatch, new headliner, new door and fender emblems, window seals, rear hatch seal, rear hatch hydraulic cylinders, replaced dash heater control, accelerator cable. In one of the pictures the console lid is cracked, IT HAS BEEN REPLACED. With a original console and lid. New Kenwood CD player with remote. Front speakers work fine, Custom speaker box built for rear hatch the two 5 in. Zeus speakers in the box are good and work fine. We took out the box to go to a car show , see pictures (needs new amp and sub woofer, a louver was dropped on sub and cracked it.) I was going to put the original carb. And intake back on it but haven’t had time. Car will do better in a original class at shows anyhow. The custom speaker box and original 2 bbl carb and intake go with it. Some other extra parts I picked here n there go with it extra tail light, tube for original air cleaner [goes from manifold to air cleaner, helps to warm up faster in winter which don’t get driven in winter anyhow]., extra accelerator cable, two pieces of bumper trim, the headlight bezels, old battery hold down. There is over $16,000.00 invested in this Cobra II. It has very nice paint and the clear coat shines great. If having it shipped I would recommend a closed carrier. It is very nice and needs very little. The strip inserts on the bumpers could be replaced. But that’s about it as far as I can tell. Was starting to take it to some car shows and its won its class in 2 of 3 shows. My son doesn’t live at home to show it and there are to many cars in the garage so some things have to go. I have a file with I think most of the receipts that goes with it. Car is located in Rushville IL. Zip is 62681.
