Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1965 Ford F100 2WD short box. When I got the truck it was 100% original except the Engine and the grill. It has a 1966 grill in it which was the only difference between the 65 and 66 so it looks like a 66. The original engine was a 352 V8. And somewhere along the line it had a 351 cleveland put in it. Not a 351 windsor or 351 modified but an actual Cleveland. And the clevelands are very rare. Also I have had ford guys tell me the cleveland is a big block but I'm not sure if it is. I bought the truck when I was 14yrs old before I could drive, with money I had saved working at my dads landscape business. The only thing I did when I bought it was painted it orange, by a chevrolet dealer in town, and put wheels and tires on it. Then through 2000-2002 while in high school I put nearly every dime I ever made into that truck, as most kids who love hot rods probably do. I put power steering and power brakes on it. I painted the interior grey and put a grey vinyl seat cover on it. I had a professional carpet the floor, headliner and behind the seat (a charcoal color) I wired it and put in a stereo system. The system has since been removed but is wired and has a cut out in the dash to fit a common sized CD player. Also the floor of the truck bed was beat up so I cut it out and put a 3/4 inch plywood floor in it that I painted black, and then covered the truck bed with a grey tanoe cover. I had the 351 cleveland rebuilt by a very reputable and state of the art engine shop locally. At that time I also added a 4barrel edelbrock intake manifold, K&N intake filter, a 750cfm Demon carburetor, S&S headers (which were nearly impossible to find for that engine.) a complete rebuild of the engine, an H pipe dual exhaust with glass packs ran straight out the back and it sounds awesome. I also put in an automatic overdrive transmission which is the best thing ever done to that truck. Its a low geared truck, but with that over drive so high geared I can go 75mph down the freeway at about 2100rpm. Saves on gas and noise. I have put more money into this truck then ill ever get back but I don't have room for it anymore, and I never am able to drive it, so I'm needing to sell it. The trucks paint job is over 10yrs old but has always been garage kept so its in pretty good shape. It has a silver pearl in the orange that really looks great in the sun but other than in the sun is not noticeable. But the paint job is not show quality. It has a lot of shine and looks great, has no drips or anything but has a couple rock chips and small surface cracks. The roll pan in the back got pushed into and is bent but did not bend the muffler tips or tailgate. For a fix I would recommended cutting out the roll pan and putting on a chrome bumper because while a roll pan looks cool in the back its not practical if you plan on driving it because any touch by anything will dent or scratch it. Cost for that would be about $200 if you did it yourself or $400 if you hired a shop to do it.
