I am selling my vintage 1980 Volvo 242. It's part of the 240 series, only two door instead of wagon or sedan. I am the third owner of this beautiful piece of Swedish machinery. It has been very well maintained (all records since day one of being driven off the lot in 1980), original engine, original paint, no accidents, very little rust. It's a 4spd, it get's pretty good gas mileage, and is a neat little car to drive. Everything is original on it. It also comes with a Volvo Mechanics Bible, if you are wanting to do work on it yourself. I flew to Maine to pick this car up and drove it back home to St. Louis in 2008. I am going back to school and fear that I will not give this car what it needs, extra time. I am looking for someone who appreciates Volvo and the uniqueness of this car to purchase it. This car will last forever as long as someone is willing to put the time and energy into it. I just had a new exhaust put on it in May 2010. It was properly registered in June 2010, so it passed the safety test with out any problems. Please feel free to email for more pictures or other information you may have. Thank you for looking. CONDITION: This car is in great condition. But remember that it's 30 years old. It has small dings from the road and minimal rusting. The interior is all original, the front dash has two heat cracks in it (can be repaired or replaced). It has a new full exhaust, new relay, new wiper blades and washer fluid mounts. The oil has been changed religiously. This car has been cared for meticulously since May 1980. A/C and heat work great, better than my 2005 Toyota Matrix actually. The car gets about 23-25 MPG, depending on the type of driving you plan on doing with it. FEATURES:Everything is original on this car, from the paint to the engine, it even has the original manual tuner radio. It has been garaged all of it's life. I am the third owner, I only drove it about 5 times in the snow, and it was washed as soon as we got back home to help thwart off salt corrosion. It is rear wheel drive. It has flip out windows in the back for the rear passengers. HISTORY:I am the third owner. It was owned by a gentleman (original purchaser) in Pennsylvania, who had the car till he passed away (spring of 2007). His son sold the car to a gentleman in Portland, ME, who intended turning this car into a Turbo. However, shortly after purchasing this car, he found a Turbo that required much less work (didn't need to be turned into a Turbo). Then I purchased the vehicle in September 2008, and drove it from Portland, ME back to Missouri. The car has a clean title and clean and clear vehicle history.
