Vehicle Detail
This is a nice, but not perfect, 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS. I've had the car for over two years and had planned to restore it, but a pay cut at work has changed my plans. The car now has a good running, 350 V8 with an aluminum intake, a 4 bbl carb, electronic ignition, headers and a mild cam. It starts, runs and shifts great. The two speed powerglide has been replaced with a three speed automatic. The floor shifter is now a "slap" shifter, which looks stock, but you have to push it twice to make it shift. I don't know if it's stock or not. The rest of the interior is pretty nice, except the driver's seat has some cracks in the leather and the headliner is sagging some. All the glass and chrome are good. It would be a great daily driver if the steering column was replaced and the front brakes were cleaned up and readjusted. The right front brake was frozen and someone put a worn out tilt column in the car. You can still drive it, but it must be driven slowly. It came with a tiny steering wheel in it, so I bought a very nice, original steering wheel but haven't installed it yet. It has a like new, am-fm cd player installed and it looks and soundg great. The guy I bought it from was a friend and he had paid $250.00 for it and installation. He kept his big speakers and put some smaller ones back in. The body and chrome are all good, but it does have a few rust spots, mainly behind the rear wheels, where gravel flew up and took the paint off.The car isn't perfect or even close to it, but for a 47 year old car it's pretty nice. I was going to put a $1,200.00 paint job on it and spend another $300.00 or so on the mechanics, then drive it for a few years before doing a full restoration. Anyhow, if you have any questions, please ask before you bid!The winning bidder needs to pay with cash only and I have a clear Arkansas title in my name. Shipping will be up the the buyer. The car is located in Lavaca, AR. 12 miles south of I-40 and 12 miles east of Fort Smith, or 20 miles east of the Oklahoma state line. You could drive it up to 30 miles, but if it was farther than that I would trailer it. It has nice rally wheels with good tires. The gas is old but I'll drain and replace most of it after the car is purchased. If you will ask a question by email I will try to answer each one, but I only have a cell phone with limited minutes, so I can't afford to call everyone.
