Vehicle Detail
This is a 1964 Falcon Futura Hardtop with the original Futura bucket seats and console. New Las Vegas Gold metallic paint and clear (lots of metallic) and looks great new correct headliner, also replaced deck lid above back seat,(other one was dry rotted ) Brand new driveshaft and u-joints, new complete 2 1/2 inch Flowmaster exhaust system and a brand new one wire alternator and new battery and battery hold down ,new trunk mat. . Has a 289 V-8 with 4 barrel with manual choke and a auto trans with a after market B&M shifter on the floor. Neutral safety switch doesn't work or is disconnected . Trans works fine with no slippage. I bought this car two years ago and was going to keep it and sell my 65 Falcon with a 4 speed, but I decided I like the 4 speed better then an automatic trans. I have driven this car about 300 miles and that was just taking it out and cruising or shows outside of that it's been in my garage and never driven in the rain since being painted. Got lots of thumbs up but I don't claim it to be a show winner,it's not perfect but it's real nice. I was told the engine was rebuilt shortly before I bought the car but I have no way of proving it, even though I believe it was. What I can tell you is when I removed the old valve covers to put new valve covers on, the heads had 289 stamped on them and they were as clean as you would see on any new engine. But I won't tell you the entire engine was done because I can't prove it. The engine has alot of pep and sounds great with the 2 1/2 inch Flowmasters I had installed. The underside of the car looks solid (check pics) and it looks like the rear leaf springs are new. The chrome Magnum 500 wheels are showing wear as far as the chrome goes but still look good. The radio opening was cut for a after market radio. The 14 inch Cooper tires have great tread but side walls are showing age cracks. The horn works once in a while. The fuel tank looks like it was replaced just before I bought the car. Fuel gauge works as does the lights ,turn signals, heater and all windows crank up n down ok. The drum brakes work ok but are not new. The front bumper has a small dent in the middle area, chrome is not show quality but nice for a driver for sure. (check pics) I replaced the 64 tailights with 65's which I think look better. The carpets are faded, more so in the back then in the front. The seats have a few rips in them and a couple have black tape over them. (check pics) I pulled the radiator and had it checked and it is fine. All hoses and belt were replaced. I was told this car could have been a six cylinder car at one point in it's long life but all the suspension and 5 lug wheels look correct for a V-8 . But all info is welcome. If you have any questions please ask before bidding and If you want to come and see the car and check it out yourself or with your mechanic ,please do. Just let me know when so I can be here. It's the responsibility of the buyer to have thouroughly inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgement solely.
