Vehicle Detail
This is a true Cyclone with an early 1965 build date as you can see by the VIN number. I have owned it for 15 years and done a complete rebuild on just about everything. This is an original California car with Old school black and yellow plates. Currently registered, and ZERO undercarriage rust. All parts are quality NOS or nice reproduction parts. This car has the ORIGINAL 289 numbers matching block and T10 4 speed. The VIN is stamped in the trans from the factory and the block also has the VIN stamped inside the bellhousing web. The 289 has been rebuilt .030 over into a thumping 347 stroker motor with about 50 miles on it total. It has just been broken in last month. The trans is completely rebuild with the same mileage as the motor. The rear end is an 8inch with original 3.00 gears. The interior is all CYCLONE, no caliente parts in this interior. Electrical all works properly except it has no horns. All seats are redone, vinyl carpet B/FX style, dash has been restored and has the 140mph speedo, headliner perfect. All engine bay wiring has been hidden inside fenders and frame rails. The heater has been taken out and a delete plate is installed, I have the heater box and plate/cables in storage. Center console is original and works like new. New 215/70/14 tires and torque thrust wheels with manual drum brakes and manual steering. Brakes have 1 year wear on them. Factory vinyl top brand new. Front and back window gaskets are new. This car has been signed by Gordon Browning...Original member of the NHRA founding fathers. Friend and co-founder with Wally Parker of the NHRA. I have put together a list of other parts rebuilt or replaced in the last 12 months. Engine bay is completely redone and painted in Flat Black paint. Shock towers are solid with NO holes or cracks Inner and outer tie rods Idler arm and bushing. Upper and lower arms/ball joints Strut rod bushings Leaf spring bushings Front 620 coils and KYB shocks at the corners Dual master cylinder conversion 3 row radiator modified for a drivers side inlet. Electric fuel pump 16 gallon fuel tank Crites snorkel fiberglass hood Original metal hood painted same color as car 347 stroker KB hyper-reutetic pistons approx 10.2:1 CR ARP rod bolts with SIR strong rods Crank chamfered All the usual engine goodies Air gap dual plane manifold 670 avenger Holley matched jets to engine mods/ electric choke original numbers matching distributor/ electronic conversion MSD 6A ignition Aluminum ProComp 60cc heads 2.02/1.60 Hyd flat tappet cam .512 symetrical lift 282 duration Melling oil pump JESEL SHAFT MOUNT valve train ($700 alone!) Powermaster high torque starter Powermaster 1 wire alternator Crites 4 into 1 ceramic coated cutom headers New 2 ½ inch exhaust with flowmaster dual exhaust Steel flywheel Centerforce dual friction clutch Stock 4 speed factory shifter/rebuilt works great Rebalanced driveshaft with 2 new ujoints Roof rail WeatherX is brand new Battery relocated to trunk Trunk restored new seat belts All window trim is in perfect shine condition Things the car could use- 1 new headlite front lower left Door weatherstrip The car is 45 years old so some other minor things I cant even think of right now but will add as they come to me. The paint is factory color code X. It was repainted in 2000 with base + clear coat. Very straight, but has some small gravel chips and scrapes in it. 8 out of 10. Zero bondo under the paint. 1 small area the size of a quarter of minor rust bubble next to pax rear window. Hood isn’t painted maroon, just has hot rod black flat painted on it. Bumpers are straight and 8 out of 10 chrome. Aluminum trim is straight and nice but can use a little polish. The 3 bars on each fender are brand new and shine nice Small dent under pax door near floorpan, cant be seen unless you have car up on a lift… size of a softball. Needs front door panels and rear seat ashtrays installed (comes with car) Mirror and door outside door handles are 8 out of 10 on shine Car does not come with Cobra oval air cleaner Door tag codes are as follows 63E X H6 10M 52 1 5 I have been getting questions about the undercarriage and if there is any rust. There is NONE. No rust under car. This is a California car all its life that has been in a garage for the past 30 years. I guarantee no rust under the car, only rust is where the item description says..... right rear window corner size of a quarter and it is not bad. This car is truly solid. NO RUST UNDER CAR. ZERO. Original floor pans and quarters which is rare. Torque boxes and frame rails are 100% good and not dented or banged up. NO TRADES OR SCAMS please. This car is worth a good home and has a clear title in my name with no problems. I have every receipt for every expense Ive put into this Cyclone. Approx 15k just in parts, not including interior or build labor or paint or my purchase price. Buyer is responsible for shipping, I will help where possible. If you have zero or negative feedback, this is not the auction for you. I will delete your bid. Thank you for looking and good luck getting this very rare option for an original California muscle car. Email all questions before bidding. You bid, youre in a binding contract. $500 immediately due at end of auction. I WILL NOT SEND THIS CAR OUT OF THE USA. It stays where it was born.On Aug-06-10 at 22:14:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry folks, I chose my words poorly on a few details in the description. The car comes with the grey door panels on it now in the pics, I do not have NOS panels for it. I will dig out the original armrests and send that with the car. I have the original stock hood, but if you want it you can have it. Only catch is I WONT ship it. Its too big so please pick it up if you'd like it. I will send the original heater box with the car as well. I found a set of exterior doorhandles brand new that will also go with the car. I did some more research and a vinyl roof was an ooption for the Cyclone in 1965. The Cyclone Club of America indicated that approx 200 were ordered that way in 1965. You can guess how many are around today? I hate to sell this car but my wife and I have been layed off, and I have 3 little sets of eyes looking to me for food and shelter. That being said, someone is going to benefit from my misfortune. I just hope its new owner will enjoy its unique nostalgia as much as I have!!!! Thank you
