Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE She’s been a good family car for nearly 8 years and 90,000 miles, but the time has come to move out of the baby years and away from minivans. She’s a 1997 Dodge Caravan Sport edition 7-passenger van with 139,000 miles, VIN number 1B4GP45R0VB483149. She’s got a 3.3 liter V6 engine, anti-lock brakes, dual airbags, and lots of other goodies (see below for complete list). She also has a few flaws given her age and I’ve done my best to represent those below also and could provide pictures if you would like to see them. Engine and transmission are strong, with no indications of any problems, and the car has current registration and inspection. The title is good and fully transferable. I’ve maintained the vehicle with scheduled oil changes and have complete records of all shop work since purchase. This is a NO RESERVE auction and she has a Kelly Blue Book retail value of $4,165, so this could be your chance to accept a few blemishes and get this car way below retail value. Good Luck Bidding! History We bought this car in 2002 with 52,000 miles on it from a reputable dealer. It was represented as having no prior accidents or other problems. We are a family of non-smokers and we have had no accidents or damage to the car (other than normal wear pictured and described below). The car is currently registered, current inspection, and fully drivable. I have full maintenance records since purchase and original purchase information as well. The most recent work done on the vehicle was in November of 2009 and consisted of a substantial brake overhaul, front and back, including brake lines. Everything is in fully functional working condition on the car except those items I’ve noted below under the Flaws section. It comes with a Haynes manual, in case you like to do your own work on the vehicle. Features · 3.3 liter, 158 horsepower, V6 engine · Sport package · Sliding door on both sides of van (left sliding door) · Removable and foldable third row seat for 7-passenger seating · Dual air bags · Anti-lock (ABS) brakes · Air conditioning · Cruise control · Power windows · Power door locks · Roof rack · Tilt wheel · Privacy glass · Alloy wheels Flaws · Scratch on right rear fender causing a very slight indentation of the fender metal · Discolored trim on front passenger door (pictured) · Mild surface rust on front passenger seat base from a period in which I tried (and eventually succeeded) in figuring out why rainwater was coming in the dash on the passenger side. I eventually learned that it’s from a clogged drain tube under the hood. It’s an easy fix that takes only a few seconds to clear out and no more effort to reach than to refill the window washer fluid. However, the moisture from my adventures in finding the source caused the rust. I can show you how to clear the line in the future when you pick up the car in case it ever happens again. · Power steering pump is leaking fluid and will need to be replaced very soon. So far I’ve simply been adding fluid every few days, but it does need replacement. Part is $109 at Pep Boys and if you’re handy with a wrench you can do it a couple of hours using the included Haynes manual. · Small tear in headliner, about the size of a quarter and a neighboring dime · Slight ballooning of head liner above passenger side door · Small spot of rust, about the size of a quarter, on the lower right running board just below the right hand sliding door. It is surface rust only causing paint flaking and hasn’t penetrated the metal. · Cassette player doesn’t work (but radio does) · Modest carpet stains of a generally gray hue from the baby years Terms of sale The successful bidder must contact with me within 36 hours of the close of the auction to arrange a date/location of transfer. In addition a $100 deposit on the vehicle must be provided through PayPal within 48 hours of the close of sale. The balance of the amount due must be provided in cash at the time of the transfer unless other arrangements are made. Buyer will be responsible for any costs associated with the transfer of the vehicle, such as title and license fees. I have done my best to describe this vehicle accurately. However, as this is a used car I can make no guarantees about the quality or lifespan of the vehicle in the future. It is sold in “as is” condition. Any proposed modifications for sale must be agreed upon in writing via email prior to your bidding on the auction. Contact information I’ve done my best to describe the vehicle fully. If you would like me to send you photos of any of the flaws or other aspects of the car please contact me. If you have any other questions about the vehicle or sale please e-mail me and I will be happy to discuss further by mail or by phone. Thanks and good luck bidding!
