Vehicle Detail
My baby. I'm selling her because I am aiming to build a house this year, and would like to scratch all the cash together that I can for that project. I aim to disclose every noteworthy item that I can think of in this ad, to save you the trouble of discovering anything unexpected after the purchase. If you have any questions about a specific item, please do not hesitate to ask. I'll answer any and all questions, even take a trip to the garage to examine or photograph what you need to know about. I have had the car since it had 71,000 miles on it. I think I'm the second owner. The exterior color is Black Cherry Metallic. This is one of the less common colors among Wagoneers. The closest color option in Ebay's setup was Burgundy, but black cherry is the actual color. On a grey or dark day it looks generally brown. In the sunshine though, it the color is really beautiful metallic cherry, kind of a dark reddish brown metallic. The clearcoat is going bad, as can be seen in the photos. Mostly on the horizontal surfaces. All the basecoat appears to be intact. I don't see any deterioration there. The body is very straight, with hardly a ding anywhere to be found, and no dents. It has had no accidents under my care, and I don't see any evidence of any previous to my ownership. The woodgrain sides are still very good. All chrome is generally excellent except for the upper trim peice on the windshield (it got kinked by a detailer) The "plastichrome grill surround is intact, but the black paint applied to it has worn, and some of the plastichrome has begun to peel on the edges. Tires are still quite good. I'm not sure how many miles are on them, but I think they were new in about the year 2003. Inside, the seats are in excellent condition. The door panels too. One trim peice needs to be re-attached to the right rear door. I have the trim piece, and it's in fine condition. The headliner is sagging now. It might be possible to take this out and flatten it, but I think these can still be purchased too. New radiator, spring 2009 Rebuilt carburettor, spring 2009 Keyless remote entry doesn't work. I have the fob, but I think there is an issue with the receiver. Might be just a small thing. The engine has oil drips, as might be expected from an engine with 151,900 miles on it. I had the rear main seal replaced once, but that didn't change anything. It looks to me like the drips may be originating from the rear of one or both of the valve covers. I have new valve cover gaskets for it, but have never put them in. I have a new hood insulation panel for it too. This only needs to be installed. To Recap the main facets of this vehicle: Good things: - Very straight body - Great Color exterior and interior (and rare) - Less than normal wear & tear for age and miles - Straight body - Rebuilt carb recently - New radiator - Chrome parts generally excellent - Has original cargo cover (needs repair to work more smoothly) Not so good things: - Sagging Headliner - Drippy engine - Clearcoat pealing - kinked trim peice at top of windshield - Keyless remote entry not functional Well that it for now.
