Vehicle Description You are bidding on the ONLY diesel hot rod of its kind on the planet, and this is your ONLY chance to own it because the winning bidder will never let it go! This car really turns heads. A super fast, super rare, super hot 1971 Datsun 240Z DIESEL. The vehicle has the straight 6 Nissan LD28 diesel engine (same physical engine size as the original 2.4L Nissan engine) from a 1982 Nissan Maxima, coupled with a 280ZX turbocharger. Gets over 40 mpg, and I've driven it up to 120 mpg in Nevada. It flies! The vehicle was designed to showcase biodiesel (the vegetable oil-based diesel fuel) but runs on regular diesel as well (no conversion kit of any kind has been installed - it's a regular turbodiesel). A straight vegetable oil kit could be installed very easily on this car, and run on pure vegetable oil! The vehicle features factory A/C, custom interior, neoprene suspension, and a very unique custom paint job. The original website www.veggiecar.com was accidently allowed to expire, however this can be correctly inexpensively by the buyer. This car will be a powerful promotion tool for you or your GREEN business. The vehicle has taken thousands of hours over 4 years to perfect, and is properly titled in Colorado as a diesel car. I love to drive this car, but am forced to sell it to pay for other projects and college expenses for my two daughters. Vehicle Condition The vehicle has been restored and is in very good shape for almost a 40 year old classic. This includes: all new body panels, all new suspension, completely rebuilt and balanced motor with less than 12,000 miles, rebuilt turbocharger, new A/C from Nissan, awesome custom paint job (airbrushed and 3 clear coats), tires have 80% tread. It is completely reliable - I would get in it tomorrow and drive it anywhere. There are a few minor flaws (as is normal for almost 40 years) and I will list them here because I want to be completely up front with you: due to a fender rebuild and strengthening, the right front tire rubs a little on inside of the fender on hard turns (turning radius is very agile so this only happens in close quarters). Floor panels will need a bit of welding TLC as they each have a small rust hold that showed up. Passenger door and rear hatch are a bit off perfect alignment but that is easily corrected with a few hours work. Rear hatch has a minor dent and chipped paint. A couple of minor paint chips exist on the red paint on the hood, barely noticeable. Tachometer does not show RPM's, but I have been told this is a simple job for a good diesel mechanic with electrical experience. Vehicle also includes a full set of factory service manuals, spare rebuilt turbo center section (worth $650), and assorted extra parts.
