Vehicle Detail
1979 Porsche 911SC 3.0 Targa 100,142 miles Runs and drives great Lowered to European 1979 911SC specifications Performance upgrades include racing struts, anti-sway bar, MOMO steering wheel, short shifter Newer paint and carpet kit Presents well 150~ detailed pictures and multiple videos below WILL COORDINATE TRANSPORT TO PORT OF MIAMI AND SHIPPING WORLDWIDE -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- You are bidding on a 1979 Porsche 911 SC Targa with a 3.0 Liter engine. It has a black interior and white exterior. It has a 5-speed transmission and removeable targa top. The dashboard is in good condition as pictured, with a couple extremely minor cracks in inconspicuous places, commensurate with 31 years of petina. The previous owner communicated that it has new front racing struts, and new front brake calipers and pads, rebuilt engine (accounting for why there are no oil leaks), new seals around th exterior including Targa top seal. The power windows both work. Also included is a service manual, genuine Porsche keys and various valuable spare parts that fill up the trunk area, in boxes. In there is the one remaining piece of the new carpet kit yet to be installed (behind the left arm of the driver get a small section that would just get glued in), various seals, spare climate control unit, extra seat belt components, and driver's side door panel map holder among other items. It has a racing-series supplemental tortion/anti-sway bar installed near the front visible in some undercarriage photos...a very nice option. It has an upgraded MOMO steering wheel, and also has a short shifter upgrade. 3 flaws for you to be aware of: 1) The AC does not blow cold 2) The radio turns on, but there is one speaker missing and no sound is emitted in the cabin 3) The windshield wipers do not turn on In all of this description, I try to focus on flaws rather than focusing on positives and in so doing I try to leave nothing out. Be sure to study all the pictures and videos because they are considered disclosure rather than relying on words alone. I have been registered on eBay for close to 11 years and have 100% positive feedback. Usually 911's leak a little oil, however this car does not even leak a little drip...EVER. Usually they have a transmission syncronizer issues, especially with 2nd gear grinding. Every gear in this car shifts perfectly, including 2nd gear and reverse. It's difficult to communicate in written words precisely how rare that is to find. This is really an exceptionally good car. If you've been searching for a 911, this is really one to jump onThe car has newer white paint in excellent condition with a various nicks from storage. There is a very minimal amount of overspray on the door jamp pillar on a door stop that should be bare metal; that can be removed with some lacquer thinner. The headlight surrounds seem to rattle...they may get a seal that's in the aforementioned box. But they are sufficiently rigid as they are so they will not come off. Just mentioning that to be thorough. The tires have a little bit of dry cracks, but I used them as they are. I mentioned above that the air conditioner doesn't blow cold. You must understand -- and you can verify this in a number of sources -- when the 911SC AC's are working as they are supposed to they still hardly cool the cabin; that's just the way they are. There is absolutely no rust on the car inside, outside, underneath, etc., as the body is galvanized. The interior was not originally black...it was redyed but looks basically presentable, although it flakes a very minimal amount. The clock is not working and the center console is not anchored in place. The right turn signals are not working or are weak...may need new bulbs. The horn is working. The driver's side door panel has some scratches...in one of the videos you might see some white specs on it, which is just some cobwebs from storage. Again, it has NOT EVEN A SINGLE OIL LEAK, not even a quarter size drip, anywhere, ever...which is VERY rare. Many seals were replaced in the engine and around the cabin, including the Targa top seal. The Porsche was lowered to European specifications, which looks so much better than a jacked up US-version, and drives better too. It also has the addition of a racing anti-roll torsion bar visible when looking at the undercarriage. It runs and drives phenomenally well. Has a newer battery. An immediate need the car has for driving during rain is that the wipers are not turning on...could just be a fuse, or the switch. But, even if it's in the motor that's still not a big deal to remove and replace. You've made a wise choice considering buying a Porsche, because the values will never decrease -- who in their right mind would predict that 30+ year old Porsche's value would go down...it's just not going to happen -- and they are fairly easy to work on and reliable. It has polished Fuchs wheels. It comes with a bunch of spare parts, service manual, and clean and clear title. Always starts right up. Note that at least one of the pictures has a picture of the coverlay installed instead of the actual dashboard. That coverlay comes with the car but it is not installed, and rest-assured there is a beautiful real dashboard where that goes...there may not be such a good picture focusing on just the real dashboard. I will try to add that later. Note also that it is very rare is that a vintage 911 or 911SC doesn't generate smoke at startup, as this one does not (unless stored for a very long time and then it's just a tiny puff, which is phenomenal and many a 911 owner would dream to have that little smoke generated). Photo album 1 of 2 (38 pictures): Photo album 2 of 2 (103 pictures): A walkaround and take off video, before the car is really warmed up: Longer highway/city drive video: Some more basic driving in town, over bumps: Some general parking lot manuevering, slow speed steering, reverse, etc: AUCTION RULES: Payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction close, by either cash in person or official bank check only.
