Vehicle Detail
1972 Ford F100 Shortbed. True mileage is unknown, but it's name is Jake. The truck runs and drives very well. The transmission shifts into all gears without issue or problem. The transmission fluid is red and smells good. Has a shift kit, so shifts are very firm. I was told that the engine and transmission had both been rebuilt when I purchased the truck, which I believe to be correct. It has power steering and power brakes. It is very easy to drive. I've owned the truck for about four years and it has been a good running truck during that time. Tires and brakes are good. Goes down the road straight with no effort. You can take your hands from the steering wheel and it does not pull, drift, etc. You can hit the brakes and not grab the wheel, as it stops straight. It drives much better than it looks. I have replaced the windshield, radiator and motor mounts. That's $700.00 in repairs alone. It starts right up and runs very good. It has a 302, two barrel carb engine with C-4 Automatic transmission. It is all stock, except the shift kit in the transmission. I hate to sell Jake, but I have too many cars and just got a new truck. If you want a new truck, don't buy this one. If you want a great old truck, this is it. You could probably drive it anywhere, but I'm not sure I would recommend doing so, given its age and unknown miles. It has been raked down the passenger side a couple of times and has had some body work. It still has original paint on the hood, left side, cab, etc. It is a very cool truck. Please ask questions before bidding. Inspections are welcome. On Jul-23-10 at 05:03:48 PDT, seller added the following information: The truck also has auxiliary fuel tanks in front of the rear wheels, that are accessed through the wheel wells. There is a tank on either side of the bed, in addition to the main fuel tank behind the seat, for a total of three fuel tanks. I have never used the auxiliary tanks, so I have no idea whether or not they are in working order.
