TIME MACHINE FOR SALE! Scientists theorize that if you could build a machine that could go fast enough, you could actually travel back in time. Honda did it and it's called the 1984 Honda Magna V65 1100! I'd always wanted one of these bikes. I've had this one almost two years and it has definitely taken me back in time! Although I'm almost 60 now, this bike has taken me back to my 20's and 30's. If I twist the trottle a little more, it even takes me back to my teens. I'm quite sure that if you twist the throttle too much, it will also take you into the after-life. This bike is definitely not for beginners or inexperienced riders, you'll want to have many cycling miles under your belt if you get this bike. When this bike first came out, I still vividly remember the Cycle World write up with the headline "BAD NEWS TRAVELS FAST". The cycling world had never seen anything like this. This bike is the 1984 version of that machine. It is in very good condition and I drive it to/from work when the weather is nice. This is a bike that has spent it's entire life in either Colorado or Wyoming. It has lived far, far away from the corrosive elements of coastal living. Presently the bike has just under 24,000 miles on it. I think that I'm the third owner of this bike and it has less than 1,000 miles for each of the 26 years since it was new. When this bike was not being driven, you can easily tell that it has always been stored in a garage. It does have a few dings and scratches from garage living and it has a 1" dimple on the lower left surface of the gas tank. I've tried to accurately photograph and point out the flaws. Those flaws aside, this is one of the nicest, stock bikes in original, unrestored condition that I'd ever seen. The paint is deep and lustrous, the chrome is near perfect and there is very little, if any, rust over the entire bike. Mechanically the bike is in excellent condition. It starts easily, shifts smoothly, and feels, looks and responds like it just came off the showroom floor. I really don't know how fast this bike will go. I do know that it has a six-speed transmission; when it's showing 80 mph on the interstate, the tach shows 4000 rpm, and it red-lines at 10,000 rpm!!! So do the math, if I had to guess, I think it would go really fast...maybe even really REALLY fast! This is a very nice, stock bike that is a regular rider. It will probably need a new rear tire within a year, but that really depends on how YOU will drive the bike. The bike is also equipped with a fan override switch. It's located on the frame, in front of the right side of the gas tank (see photo). This allows you to turn the fan on when you're doing city riding on hot days. These bikes tend to run warm, especially while doing stop/go driving on a hot day. The only issue that I know of with the bike has to do with the turn signals. The self-cancelling turn signals do not self-cancel. Occasionally, the turn signals don't work at all, but most of the time they do. I'm not sure what would cause that, but it hasn't been problematic enough for me to worry about it. This bike comes equipped with an anti-theft system called FOIL, "Fiber-Optic Integrated Lock". It consists of a large cable that coils/stores under the seat (see picture). It was designed so you could use the cable to lock the bike to a tree or pole and the cable locks into place on the lower left side of the bike. Once locked, it activates an alarm that sounds if the connection is broken. The system is powered by a 9v battery. I'd never heard of this system and had no idea that it was on the bike until I bought this bike. The bike also comes with extras. One of the previous owners bought Honda hard-sided bags and trunk for the bike. These are brand-new, and never been on the bike as far as I can tell. It appears to have all the hardware to attach them. The bike also comes with an extra, larger Honda backrest; foot pegs that attach to the engine case-guards, and a leather bag that attaches to the back rest. The bike is also equipped with a battery-tender that keeps the battery charged during cold winters. The battery on the bike has a battery-tender pig-tail attached. When you want to charge the bike over the winter, it takes just seconds to attach the battery tender to the pig tail, quick and easy! The bike comes with the original owner's manual, a Clymer Shop manual, and several keys. If you are like me, and you've always wanted one of these bikes, then this is the bike for you. It has very low mileage, and other than for a few flaws, it is in excellent condition! This one doesn't have skull handle grips, or chrome engine covers, but many people prefer a stock version over someone else's idea of cool anyway. Don't let this bike get away, you can bid with confidence. I live in Denver, Colorado. Shipping and transport costs are the responsibility of the new owner. There is a Forward-Air terminal here in Denver that will ship to major cities throughout the US. But why ship it? Buy the bike, come to Denver and do some touring in the Rockies before you drive your new bike home! Check my feedback and bid with confidence! This is one of the nicest, stock versions of this bike that your going to find, Happy Bidding!
