Vehicle Detail
1977 Gremlin 77,302 original miles. The car engine runs good and smooth without problems. The transmission shifts into all gears without issue or problem. The transmission fluid is red and smells good. The car has had a recent oil change and new water pump. I purchased this car a couple of years ago to rebuild. It was mechanically sound, but needed some attention to the body, as you can see in the photos. I purchased a passenger door, which is shown and which goes with the car. I have a son whose vehicle broke down, so I let him take this one, as it was a very good running vehicle. A wheel cylinder failed and my son ran the car out of brake fluid. It has been parked in my yard ever since, about six months. I started it last week, without problem. It cannot be driven, as the brakes don't work. We can probably put brake fluid in it and get the brakes to work, but I do not recommend driving it for this reason. It does have a slow air leak on one of the back tires, but the tires are otherwise in very good condition. I have driven this car over the course of two years and it never failed to start, get me where I was going, and get me back home again. I truly believe the mileage is original, and I think you will too. The engine and trans are in too good of condition to have any more. It does not have disc brakes on the front of it. The person I bought it from purchased it for the hood and passenger door. He put the wrecked door and non-matching hood on it and then sold it to me. I think that this car may have come with disc brakes, but it has drums on front. I'm thinking the other owner may have taken the disc brakes too. It does not have power steering or power brakes. This would make someone a good transportation car, and the Gremlin just adds a cool factor. It gets very good gas mileage. The rear quarters in back of the rear wheels are rusted through, which I have tried to show in the photos. There is also some rust on the front right fender. Please look at the photos and ask your questions before you bid. It has the owners manual, and I have some sales literature on the car, which I will have to look for. I've toyed with the idea of taking the car to get the brakes redone, but I just don't have time. I also have way too many vehicles.
