And something else that’s as likely as the sun rising in the East is a used BMW’s value folding faster than Superman on laundry day. Because of that, these quality collector beauties are a deal and as Road & Track so aptly put it “one of the few true collector cars from the 90’s”. The big coupe’s sex on wheels presence, plus the manly-man drive train, overcame rational thought for many who ponied up over one hundred thousand dollars in 1993; back when a dollar was worth at least a Kennedy Half. Big Bimmers have that kind of an effect on people and this one in its original red splendor certainly fits the bill. The V12 at full throttle is music. Styling is 100% spot-on beautiful. At 100+ mph the vehicle is like a rocketship on rails. Very solid, very firmly attached to the ground, and very, very fast. Press the gas at 100 mph and hold on. Words cannot describe this vehicle, you have to get out on the road and experience it. These cars were built for the Autobahn to run alongside Ferrari and Porsche, only in extreme comfort and luxury. This is a two owner car that was bought from the original owner in 2005. She was literally a “little old lady” from the San Francisco Area. The local BMW Dealer performed all services during her ownership. The Second owner has spent over $11K in replacement /repairs since 2005. Included in the costs were upgrades to the suspension with lowering springs, new struts front and rear shocks and mounts. All four wheels were aligned with the installation of new 19” Staggered Custom Wheels and BF Goodrich G Force Z rated Tires. The vehicle has all new braided brake hoses, new radiator and expansion tank, ABS Pump replaced and serviced. All new brakes and sensors. Transmission has been serviced, two new batteries, 02 sensors replaced. There is just too much to list, receipts for everything are included. All work since 2005 was performed by Eurasian Automotive of Pasadena California. Most of the work has been done in the past two years with very few miles. Eurasian is a high-caliber shop and would give this car two big “thumbs-up”. I restore cars and this specimen is absolutely pristine in almost every way. The body panels are flawless and appear to have never been touched. The paint is absolutely pristine. The interior is in excellent condition with no rips or tears to the seats or door panels. The leather has a nice patina and would put it at 8 out of 10 from new… and 10 out of 10 for 17 years old. The dash, instrument panel and console are all unchecked with no cracks or discoloring anywhere. It is apparent that this car was someone’s baby, driven on weekends and outings, but not a commuter car. Clearly it has spent 99% of its life in the garage and has seen very little sunlight exposure due to the “like new” appearance of all the exterior and interior components. Both engine area and undercarriage are in near pristine condition as well. My good friend bought this car for his daughter who is in College back East, and after careful consideration it was decided to get her something more on the order of a Toyota Camry. This is just too much car for a young girl. He would like to keep it but it would be an extra car, so it needs to go. This car should be considered an excellent candidate for a collector and would do well at any BMW Club Event anywhere. An example in this condition is a pretty rare find.
