Vehicle Detail

Here is one real nice 1988 Ford Ranger XLT. I bought it as a frame donor for a project, but it is just too nice to take apart. My project has now shifted to a Chevy S10 frame. So the Ranger is now just taking up space in my driveway. It was bought new by a retired gentleman in Stillwell Oklahoma and it stayed in Oklahoma up until a few months ago when I bought it from his daughter. I am the second owner. It has been used as a truck and the bed is pretty scratched up, but the overall body condition is very good. It needs somebody to get a power buffer after it and bring the red back to a full luster. I did find a rust spot in the back right rear corner of the bed outer skin. (see picture) I had it state inspected and had to put on ball joints and a muffler in order for it to pass inspection. If you buy it in Missouri, the inspection is good for about another 45 days and you won't need to have it re-inspected. All options work including the A/C, Cruise control, Tilt wheel, Power steering, Power brakes, AM/FM radio. It drives around town or on the highway just fine. I have been driving it to work and back for the past couple weeks and it has performed flawlessly. (1/2 hr on the interstate one way) Here are the known issues that could be improved. The digital readout in the radio face don't light up. You cannot tell what time it is or what station is playing. The radio works just fine. I have not tried the cassette player. The fuel gauge does not work. BUT, This little truck has dual tanks. It gets great gas mileage and with two tanks it has a range that is about 700 miles or more before you run out of gas. What the previous owner did was drive a couple hundred miles, then he flipped the switch on the dashboard (which changes to the rear tank) then stopped and refilled the front tank. Then he drove a couple hundred miles on the rear tank, flipped the switch back to the front tank and go fill up the rear. You should get roughly 350 miles per tank. The tail gate latch is a little sticky and sometimes you need to really yank on the handle to get it open. The driver door panel has a hole rubbed in the vinyl, probably due to where the man rested his left foot. I just forgot to take the picture. It is missing the right rear hubcap. With all of the above said: it is a solid little truck that has been well cared for and should serve well for many miles to come. The interior is real nice and the tires are like new. Sold as is...NO warranty written, expressed or implied. Pick up or transport is at your expense, but I can help make the arrangements Email any questions to mencen@sbcglobal.net Thanks for looking.
