don't buy this jeep!!!! I want to keep it but money talks...so im setting the reserve high. local pickup only.....bloominton, illinois 61701 UP for bid is a 1982 cj7 laredo with 79,000 miles on it!!! I got this jem from a guy who owned it for the last 24 years. He was the third owner and it sat in his garage for over 12 years...The title is 24 years old!!!!. If i dont sell this i get to keep it so don't bid!!!! in the 24 years he owned it he only put 10,000 miles on it. most of the time it was in his garage. He only sold it to me because he took a job out of state and already had 3 cars to take with him...... The jeep frame is solid. there are no holes or cracks in the frame. I have owned over 15 jeeps in my life.... and this is by far the best frame and body i have seen on a cj. The body is in very good shape. The front driver floor pan is gone. I went to jc whitney and got a new one that welds in for it. I have yet to install it but it comes with the sale. It has one little patch of rust under the jeep decal on the drivers side that you can see in the picks. I have put a new polly fuel tank, new sending unit, new fuel lines, new fuel pump, rebuilt carb, and new fuel filter on it. The vehilce runs and drives good from what i saw. I only drove it around my friends trailer park up to 35 miles an hour since it doesnt have valid plates on it. It has factory limited slip rear end in it. i raised the jeep on jacks and both wheels spin the same way when you spin a sigle tire... so im sure its still good. I also took it down to the lot he has at the trailer park and played with the 4 wheel drive and it works great. It has the plastic valve cover on it that leaks and needs replaced with a 100 buck aluminum one to stop the problem (but it doesnt leak too bad as far as i see). It needs a new headlight and cover, new front turn signal units that plug in to be street legal. all and all if you know anything about jeep you know a new jeep tub alone is 4k plus. this jeep is definatly resorable. It has no bono job done to it. It is still the original paint job!!!! It has a 4 inch lift by skyjacker and has 33x12.5 r 15 tires on it. the lift is still stiff since he didnt drive it much and needs broke in. he said he only put 500 miles on it since the lift. but that was many years ago and the shocks show rust so i painted them black. I have the hard top, doors, carpet, and back seat for sale in another auction. I hope i sell the other items and keep the jeep......but like i said money talks. I will not do a buy it now and don't ask if i will sell everything together unless you shoot me a really high number. it comes with a bikini top but i dont have the front bracket to mount it (they are only 10 bucks thou). it also needs the two knobs to keep the windsheld locked in the up right position. I love driving around the trailer park with the windsheild down thou...its fun. The jeep starts good without needing to pump the gas. I will add more later when i think of it feel free to ask questions and view my other jeep parts auction. please have a tow vehicle ready to come pick it up within 48 hours of auction unless you check with me otherwise.. i reserve the right to pull the auction early if i get a high enough offer...but it better be a high offer I am selling this on my mothers ebay and she has a perfect record. I would prefer if you came and looked at it before you bid to see what you are getting. you can even take it for a test drive around the trailer court and i will show you the 4 wheel drive works good. On Jul-12-10 at 19:23:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I want to add some things to give you a better description of the jeep: discription of the gauges oil pressure: oil pressure wobbles around between 30 and 60 psi. after you get a new valve cover and put it on it may stay steady voltage: The voltage stays between 12 and 14. it jumps around between those two numbers speedo: guage seems to work fine. with the bigger than stock tires on it im sure if it says your doing 30 you are really doing 35 temp: temp guage works good and stays under the half mark clock: the clock works fine and stays on all the time..even with the keys out tack: the tack guage does not work. it will need replaced fuel: the fuel guage does not work. i put a new sending unit in it and hooked it up so it has got to be in the guage itself witch is an easy fix The heater does not work. i couldnt get it to turn on and looked no further than that. The windsheild has a crack in it. I would put a whole new windsheild on it if i was going to paint it. It has a optima red top battery in it and it comes with the jeep. the steps are sturdy and hold 240 lbs easy the wipers turnned on for a second.Either their is a bind in the linkage or the motor needs replaced....but they moved for a minute...and the motor did not smoke or smell funny. He lost the locks for the theft proof lug nuts. If you take them to armondo's tire shop here in town he will probably take them off for 20 bucks. it has only one mirror on the driver side. It needs the two rubber grommets that hold it in place. The driver side has the bracket for the mirror so you can just put a new one on. If i think of anything further i will add it later. Its pretty quiet (exaust wise) putting around the trailer court. I have only had it 0-35mph but it drives strait down the road with no pull.On Jul-12-10 at 21:06:02 PDT, seller added the following information: when you put it into 4 wheel drive the 4wd light on the dash lights up. This jeep has the push button on the floor to switch from regular headlights to high beams. The switch is not working and needs replaced. The switch can be found for 10 dollars thou.
