You are looking at a nifty little 1983 Porsche 944. I bought this car from a co-worker who had a new child and then relocated to California. He had the seats re-upholstered and put in new carpeting and it really looks great compared to other '83 models. The motor had 130000 on it when I bought the car and was running pretty well until it decided to stop working at about 143,000. I am fairly certain it burned a piston and dropped a cylinder because the car will crank but won't run for very long and it barely made it the 3 miles to my house after the engine went up. The transmission is tight and, other than the motor it was a great car for playing around as well as commuting to and from work. In addition to the car, I also have a spare 5 speed transmission, oil pan, and a bunch of other parts. I had hoped to pull the motor and put in another one but I simply don't have the time or the experitise to do so. This car was a blast to drive while it was running and I'd hate to see it parted since it is in pretty good shape other than the motor but the wheels, tranny, and body parts alone would justify the purchase for someone with the time to part it out and sell it. The interior is especially nice for a 1983 and makes this car an easy project for someone who has a motor for it. Winning bidder gets the car and all of the extra parts as well. No delivery, local pick up only.On Jul-06-10 at 08:09:59 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple more details: The car is a non-power steering model, power windows work fine, power headlights work fine, A/C needs to be recharged, and it could use a new rack and pinion. Also, the wheels have a locking lugs on them and the former owner never located the socket for me. A tire shop can remove the lock lugs and replace with standard or a new set of locking lugs.
