GORGEOUS & ICONIC VINTAGE 1979 MERCEDES-BENZ CONVERTIBLE ROADSTER IN STUNNING GUNMETAL-GRAY WITH SUPERB CHROME DETAIL! CAR FEATURES MATCHING HARD TOP & ORIGINAL BLACK CANVAS SOFT TOP, TAN & BLACK INTERIOR, ORIGINAL MERCEDES LOGO WHEELS, EXCELLENT TIRES (FRONT= 75% TREAD; REAR=100% TREAD); NEWLY INSPECTED; NEW ACCELERATOR PEDAL; MANUAL/OFFICIAL MERCEDES LEATHER MANUAL POUCH; &, VALET & MASTER KEYS! Gorgeous little model starts, runs, drives, has current (July 2010) inspection, has absolutely no leaks, and four new tires. I purchased this vintage model (my third Mercedes, after a new SLK convertible & E320 sedan), but, did so without the knowledge that this little car requires more reparation than I am prepared to put forth; it was purchased due to description (written/pictorial) of "excellent condition," both mechanically & cosmetically (i.e., nearly flawless/showrrom), but, it is not. Thus, the iconic classic is perfect for a Mercedes/Vintage Luxury collector, or, sold for parts. The hard top, alone, is worth the start-price of the auction! The following video, featuring another SL450, is provided for estimating car value: Other than the aforementioned, addtional repairs needed include the passenger-side power window/lock operations; soft top; radio; two lenses; console shows splitting. Both seats have some splitting/discoloration, & sit low; the air conditioning may eventually require additional Freon. However, it should be noted that these vintage Mercedes models were never equipped to bring "super icy-cold air," but, "comfortable, cool air conditioning," according to my mechanic. The car has a new accelerator pedal, but, requires a floor mount (currently, there is simply a bar to compress for acceleration). Both driver's/passenger side requires reflooring; new kick panels are also needed on both sides; miscellaneous dent, scratch, rubs. The paint is faded/mismatched; needs full body paint (with sanding/filling/priming) to even out current touch ups. This beautiful little Mercedes is being sold AS IS with no warranty implied or assumed. Bidders are welcome to inspect, test, or inquire about anything regarding this car, prior to purchase. Vehicle has had at least 3 owners, no accidents, has a clear title; current inspection, and is ready to drive/load for shipment.
