You are bidding on a 95% original 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Survivor. There have been no cosmetic enhancements. This vehicle was in storage for 28 years. The engine has new gaskets, original rebuilt 2bbl carburetor, radiator vatted, spark plugs & wires, t-stat, all four wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, frt & rear shoes, new complete exhaust, new belts & hoses (GM), headlight switch, and a new battery. Other than these minor mechanical repairs to get the vehicle running it has all original equipment. There is not a cleaner all original specimen on this planet. This car has BFGoodrich Bias-ply with original receipt when they were installed @ 21,000 miles 3-23-1963. All Chrome accessories were added to this car but the lower fender mldgs. This car has Left side outer mirror, Rt & LT fender chrome mldgs on crest of fender. Chrome Frt bumper accessory two-piece bumper. Chrome rear bumper end caps on top corners. All 4 doors have chrome vent shades. All Chrome is in excellent undamaged condition. This car is equipped with a factory padded dash and with no cracks or tears. Rare option. Engine was painted to factory original red when removed for new gaskets. New Chevrolet scripts were installed on valve covers, new oil filter cover (Delco) decal was added on. Oil Bath air filter has new decals. All new GM belts and hoses were installed. All engine mounts were replaced with Danchuck replica mounts. Engine compartment was painted when engine was removed. Transmission blow-by hose added to transmission. Factory stainless steel exhaust was replaced in 2008 to original spec. All work was done by GM Master certified technicians. I was the Service Director of a Chevrolet dealership at the time. Vehicle is stored at the dealership. Vehicle has original interior, headliner, seats, and door trims in excellent condition. Only wear item is the left frt door arm rest. Doors open and close better than any of my late model cars. I am a Shriner and car was purchased for parades and car shows only. I put on 600 miles in the 3 years I have owned it. I towed it out of a barn after sitting stored for 28 years. Vehicle is driven rarely on special occasions. It is garaged the rest of the year in an open garage with no mice. Vehicle has been appraised by local antique car appraiser, Reserve is set considerably lower than appraised value. This will accompany the vehicle at time of sell. An original oil change sticker is inside drivers door jamb from 1957. I have copy of original title. This was a South Dakota car originally. I am the second person to title the vehicle. I have the original owners manual as well as several other original documents that go with this vehicle. Vehicle is Black/Ivory exterior and interior. Clock and Radio are inop, every other feature operates. The car will cruise nicely at 65-70 mph. It has never left me stranded. Small trans leak at shift shaft seal. One piece frame rails, tires have lots of remaining tread life. Equipped with all original 265 V-8, Powerglide transmission, The pictures tell the story of the originality of this vehicle. The paint is all original, the interior is all original (except seatbelts added). This may be as close as you ever get to being around the glory years of an original tri-five. All door seals are undamaged, rear seat does not appear to have been used, front seat 2 minor blemishes. There is a small rub in the headliner appears to be from cowboy hat from the 50's. This is the working man's classic. Lots of watchers and bidders are due to condition on this car. I must sacrifice as I work to much too enjoy having it.
