Vehicle Detail

GREAT SUMMER CAR!!!! You are bidding on one of the fastest appreciating european motorcars in the world: the Jaguar XJS Convertible. The car has been out of production since 1996, but the most desirable year to own is 1995 and the rarest of rare is a 1995 XJS Convertible with Jaguar logo'd wire wheels. I have seen only 1 other 1995 XJS with wires wheels. I bought the car from my boss when he retired and moved to Florida. He and I both only used the car in the summer. The car has just passed NJ Department of Motor Vehicle inspection. The convertible top is brand new Fall of 2009. I had it replaced with the color matched original. The tires were new 2009 as are the brakes. Oil and filter have been changed regularly and recently completed. I am lucky enough to have a local foreign car specialist nearby, who has always serviced the vehicle. However, a foreign car specialist is not really necessary as parts are all readily available through any competent service facility. The wipers are also new. There is one minor sliver of a scratch in the front left fender just beyond the headlight. If you look in the picture carefully, you might be able to just barely make it out. The engine starts effortlessly, the trans shifts smoothly and the drivetrain of the vehicle is in 100% sound mechanical condition. On a scale of 1 to 10 for its year and age, the car is a 9+. I detailed the car myself and clay-barred the entire car. The finish is mirror smooth. There's some tiny (I mean tiny, tiny) stone nicks down low on the car. Some people use Dupli-Cover touch up paint to hide a nick here and there. I find the Dupli-color never matches the car's original paint 100% and the car winds up looking like it has a case of the measles. If I didn't tell you where to look, you would not see them. The car looks fantastic. You will not be disappointed with it. This is not a show car, but could be with very little effort. The air conditioning blows nice and cool. The carpets are in great shape. The upholstery is not torn, ripped or worn, except for the center seat cushion driver's side, which is showing signs of wear and should replaced. My upholstery guy quoted me $500 to replace the center cushion. He has to order the color matched hide. Everything electrical works. I installed a small battery maintainer in the trunk. The car is layed up in the winter and by plugging it in, the battery stays charged all winter long. A plastic lens on the sun visor light is broken. Warranties: obviously, Jaguar doesn't warranty the car anymore, so neither do I. It is being sold as-is. The mileage is almost 70,300 miles, but if it's sunny out, you should know that I cannot resist the urge to drive the car this time of year. After waiting all winter for good weather, you should know that it does give me so much pleasure to drive, I cannot resist dropping the top and taking her out locally... even if I have it listed for sale. So, expect to see a few more miles on it when you come to pick it up. Don't worry, I only drive locally, within a 10 miles radius. I truly love this car and you will too! If you're looking for the sexiest tanning machine alive, you've just found it. Just put the top down, put the boot on, put on the sunscreen, slide down the shades and head off to your favorite upscale summer restaurant, golf or tennis club or best friend's party. The car is a real head turner. Expect to get a good dose of thumb's up from appreciative fans. The color combination is gorgeous: Topaz body with Gray Taupe interior. This XJS hold its own against the finest exotics costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Expect to be valet parked out front your favorite restaurant alongside Bentleys, Rolls, Ferrari's, Astons, etc. The 1995 XJS convertible is destined to show up one day at Barrett-Jackson going for strong money. Maybe it'll be this one. If you're serious about buying the car, please bid through Ebay. It's better for you and for me. Bid with confidence. Drive anywhere. Bid agressively. Somebody is going to get one helluva great car from a reliable seller. I don't do a lot of transactions on ebay, but you can check my profile and you will be happy with the goods. Why am I selling it? I've got my eye on a buddy's 2002 Vanquish. No story here. Just a great, great car for somebody who appreciates the care it takes to keep a 15 year old car looking like new. P.s. The vehicle history report will show that in approx 1997, I believe, the vehicle had its front lower valance replaced after hitting a tall curb. I also tapped a tall curb while parking when I first got the car and also scraped the valance. I had it sanded and repainted. These were both extremely minor repairs. Good luck. I hope she finds a new owner as caring as her previous owners. P.s.s. 1995 XJS's can sell for a wide range of prices. Super-low mileage '95 XJS's in superior condition can trade between $20,000 to $30,000 dollars. I have seen some of these 1995 XJS's trading as low as $5,500. All of them with run-of-the-mill boring 5-spoke wheels. Usually, these are daily drivers where nothing has been maintained and are rather rusty and tired looking up close and in person, despite the photos. Convertible tops need to be replaced, upolhestry is shot, brakes undone, tires worn, paint faded, electrics don't work. If my vehicle had under 50,000 miles on it, I wouldn't even be listing it on ebay, it'd be in Hemmings instead. I am, however, a very realistic seller with a very realistic reserve. Somebody is going to get one helluva a good car here. Bid aggressively. Don't let this one slip away for a couple of dollars. This is the one to own.
